The Illinois State Patrol Is Asking The St. Louis County Search Squad For Help

The St. Louis County search and rescue squad has been called to assist in one of the most talked about cases in the country today.
23–year–old Stacy Peterson of Illinois has been missing for over two weeks.

The Illinois State Patrol contacted the St. Louis County Rescue Squad due to its expertise and advanced equipment.

"We've been very successful in search efforts here in St. Louis County and in Northeastern MN and I think the authorities in Illinois are aware of our track record," said St. Louis County Sheriff Ross Litman.

Search set for Stacy and Lisa

Volunteers will comb new territory Saturday for any trace of two missing local women.

It has been more than a month since Bolingbrook mother Stacy Peterson vanished, and seven months since Plainfield mom Lisa Stebic disappeared.

Volunteers are asked to meet at 9 a.m. Saturday at Westbrook Christian Church, 1175 Lily Cache Lane in Bolingbrook. State police will point them to new search areas, planners say.
Pam Bosco, a spokeswoman for Stacy's family, said they are planning to hold a candlelight vigil outside the Peterson house at 4 p.m. Saturday.

"We're not just looking for Stacy," Bosco said, mentioning Stebic.

"Volunteers will begin searching in the Bolingbrook area at 9 a.m. Saturday then will reconvene in front of the home at 6 Pheasant Chase Court, according to the family's Web site, findstacypeterson.com.

Sharon Bychowski, next-door neighbor of the Peterson family, has taken out a block party permit with the village of Bolingbrook to conduct the event in the street, according to the village clerk’s office.

The Web site dedicated to finding Stacy Peterson is asking volunteers to meet at Westbrook Christian Church at 9 a.m., 1175 Lily Cache Lane, to aid in search efforts, and also to attend the vigil."

Dress warm you guys!!!

"One to three inches of snow is predicted to fall in the Chicago area Saturday, according to the National Weather Service."

THE CANDLELIGHT VIGIL IS GOING FORWARD, HOWEVER, IF YOU NEED TO TRAVEL TO IT, THE FAMILY IS ADVISING PEOPLE *NOT* TO TRAVEL DUE TO HAZARDOUS WEATHER AND DRIVING CONDITIONS. IF YOU ARE LOCAL AND CAN GET THERE, THAT'S GREAT.

Snow snarls search for missing Chicago-area woman

The people searching for any signs of Stacy Peterson are through for the day. Today's search for the 23-year-old woman who went missing in October was called off after about four hours due to snow and sleet in the Chicago area.

Before that, more than 200 people scoured areas outside Romeoville today, looking for any sign of the missing woman.

Family and friends of four missing suburban residents gathered to hand out fliers informing people of their missing loved ones.

Originally, the families of Stacy Peterson, Lisa Stebic, Bradley Olsen and John Spira planned to search for any trace of Spira.

He last was seen near North Avenue and Country Farm Road in West Chicago on Feb. 23.

However, the recent snow canceled the search.

“I have a lot of hope that we’ll find him,” Spira’s sister Stephanie McNeil said. “I don’t have a lot of hope that we’ll find him alive.”

Instead, families and friends of the four pamphleted the area with information about the four and other missing people.

The search for Stacy Peterson is set to resume Sunday morning. They'll be using sonar to search through bodies of water and volunteers to search on land. If you'd like to help out show up at the Bolingbrook Aquatic Center, 200 S. Lindsey Lane, at 9 a.m.

Yes they are back full force and today they are supposedly using sonar devices to continue the water searches as well as the land searches.

I just have a feeling it won't be long now until Cass is able to bring Stacy home to rest in peace.

I am honestly saying my prayers that within the next few days, Stacy will find her way home.
