'Dance Moms' Abby Lee Miller indicted on federal fraud charges

"Dance Moms" star Abby Lee Miller is scheduled to plead guilty next week in Pittsburgh to bankruptcy fraud and failing to report more than $10,000 worth of Australian currency she brought into the country.

U.S. District Judge Terrence McVerry issued orders scheduling Miller's guilty pleas for Monday shortly after she issued a statement to The Associated Press saying she accepts responsibility for the charges.

I have struggled with the show because of the way she treats the children. The parents are adults and get what they get because they buy into her making their kid a star. I hope she goes to prison as part of this deal-- for a fair bit of time.
 
Reality television star Abby Lee Miller pleaded guilty to federal bankruptcy fraud charges Monday morning.

This is really her only source of income. She rents out the Pennsylvania studio but I bet that just about covers the taxes and maintenance. So I wonder what's up?

It could be just her typical borderline personality disorder outburst. It could be she is trying to negotiate a better deal (because let's face it, without the drama this woman brings, the show won't exist so they have an incentive to keep her on). It could be she knows she is going away for awhile.

Abby Lee Miller has been sentenced to a year and a day in prison for bankruptcy fraud and for taking $120,000 worth of Australian currency into the country without reporting it.

A federal judge in Pittsburgh also ordered Miller to pay a $40,000 fine and spend two years on probation following her release.

Miller pleaded guilty in both cases last year.

Well, she is in prison now, for a year and a day and I am intrigued to know if the papers can manage a news item every day for a year and a day. Shock, horror. She has been caught with an APPLE in her cell and so had to break rocks for a day.

I do kind of feel this is someone who has managed to build a wall of isolation round themselves and is totally lost as to how to break those walls down to survive. In the bigger scale of things she has not kidnapped or murdered anyone.
 
It just amazes me the crimes some people go to prison for and the crimes some people walk free from.
