Witness: Two men threw 'body parts' over Spokane Street bridge
July 12, 2011

"Police are seeking a search warrant in the mysterious death of Jeremy Peck after a witness said he may have seen two men throwing a suspicious load over the railings on the Spokane Street bridge. Peck, 24, disappeared after visiting the Admiral Pub on Dec. 24, 2010, and his remains washed ashore on a Bainbridge Island beach a month later. An autopsy was performed, but his manner of death was ruled inconclusive.

An area worker said on the night Peck disappeared, he was driving over the Spokane Street bridge over Harbor Island when he saw two men "putting something heavy over the railing in the Duwamish River," including "what he thought may be body parts," according to the statement of probable cause. The man added the two men were standing next to a white BMW pulled over on the bridge...."

What does "what he thought may be body parts" mean? What would cause a person to jump to that conclusion?

From July 2011:

Cell phone records for one of the people of interest placed him very near the Spokane Bridge shortly before this eyewitness account...

According to court documents, the owner of the BMW told detectives he lent his vehicle to one of the persons of interest during the month of December 2010. He said the person of interest was considering buying the vehicle, but later decided against it.

The vehicle was taken as evidence on March 27 and, according to the detective, showed possible signs of a struggle including a broken rear passenger door handle and damaged window tinting on the same side... [A]n investigation turned up what appeared to be blood inside the vehicle. On April 4 the lab results came back, matching the blood’s DNA with that of Jeremy Peck.

Jeremy is currently listed on Seattle PD's Who Killed Me? page:
