Wilmington mother and daughter reported missing

Eva Jones, 60, and her daughter, Tiffany Cartwright, 35, of Wilmington were last seen Friday, March 31 around the midday hour.

Eva Jo Jones, 60, and her daughter Tiffany Renee Cartwright, 35, were reported missing Monday evening. They were last seen on Friday.

Jones is white, with blond hair and blue eyes. Cartwright is white, with brown hair and hazel eyes.

The women may be traveling between Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Wilmington in a silver 2002 Saturn SL1 with the North Carolina license tag YZA-5017.

Is there much water or scrub along that route? Sadly the most logical explanation is that they were in an accident and aren't obvious from the road.

Wolf, sorry quote not working for me. I am smack dab in the middle of their route. If they took the main road, there's not a lot of water, but Wilmington is on the intracoastal waterway and Myrtle is on the Atlantic. I can't see them (if they took the route everyone takes) going close enough to water for that to be an issue.
It is wooded and dark at night. (again if they are using the normal route, which would be hwy 17) North to south.

Confused about the location of the shed. Was it abandoned? Did the ladies make it to MB? Why drive them to Whiteville, especially if he planned to kill himself?

Meanwhile, the Columbus County Sheriff’s Office will not confirm if two bodies found Monday night a burning shed are related to the missing women. The sheriff’s office also declined to provide the time of the fire and the location, but, according to The News Reporter newspaper in Whiteville, the fire was reported shortly after 10 p.m. and the shed is located in heavy woods near the 6000 block of Silver Spoon Road on the Mount Olive school complex.

letter sent home to parents at Holly Tree Elementary School today confirms the death of one of two missing Wilmington women.

Tiffany Cartwright worked as a custodian at the school.

The letter says the school is deeply saddened by the death of a custodian and tells parents a crisis response team will be available.

Assistant Superintendent Rick Holliday confirms the letter is in reference to Cartwright.

After thorough investigations, Wilmington Police Detectives, Columbus County Sheriff’s Deputies, Horry County Police and the N.C. State Bureau of Investigation are in concurrence that Jeffrey Harmon is solely responsible for the deaths of Ms. Jones and Ms. Cartwright.

"Jeffrey Harmon killed, dismembered and burned Eva Jo Jones and Tiffany Cartwright, according to a news release from Wilmington Police on Friday.

Investigators searched Cartwright and Jones’ Wilmington home with permission from Sara Harmon and discovered “what appeared to be reddish stains on one of the table legs and carpeting,” according to the warrant. The carpet also appeared to be recently cleaned and was still wet.

District attorneys Jon David and Ben David said there will be no charges filed in this case due to Harmon’s suicide."
