180 Photos Released Dec 16th, 2010

Donjeta, I think you're onto something with Ingrid...there is a distinct look there, and both photos have it.

Also, I was wondering if anyone thought the name tag upthread wasn't a carrot but a chili? That may give a clue, too.

I will be going through the photos tonight. If I have any thoughts, I'll post them up. This has got to be really hard on both the PD and the public...my prayers are with them and the victims.

The CBS 48 Hours photos don't match the numbers given by the LAPD. Makes it very difficult to follow. I think LA Times is the website the people above are using. It uses the LAPD numbers.

122 is the same person as 17 (in my link). Female, but quite "handsome" and could be mistaken for a male. In photo 17, you can see her bra and chest, so...

Here is the link I'm looking at. I'm not sure if it's the same as you all are, though.

These ones?

Yeah, it probably is a chili. Which chili place employees have worn such an outfit?

Re: Maxine, the girl with the chili pepper name badge and the two-tone fast food shirt

That looks more like a chili pepper than a carrot, IMHO, but it's not shaped like the rounded logo of the restaurant chain called Chili's. Their logo can be seen here: http://www.chilis.com/EN/aboutchilis/Pages/chilisfolklore.aspx

It might be a generic name badge used by a mom-and-pop taco place. The shirt looks similar to a McDonald's polo shirt.

Donjeta, I really got mixed up. So sorry.

I meant this photo:

Compared to your post (#7) identified as #122

I will switch to the link the rest of you are using for ease of comparison. Sorry about that...

Yes, the chili logo at Chili's is definitely different. I am wondering at so many of the things I'm seeing in the background(s) of photos. Since I live here in Los Angeles, some of these places look familiar...but not enough for me to say "yes, I know that spot".

What a tragic case all the way through.

I just noticed two of the questionably deceased pictures are of the same woman so I think it is safe to say she has passed. In the CBS link it is #146 and . She looks a little different in # and I think it is because more time has passed. Her face seems more sunken.

Sorry I can't find the other one right now, it is earlier in the string and I have to leave the house soon. I'll try to find it later. I was able to tell because of her pink/red hair.

ETA:

LAtimes link - #s 87 and 36. Do you think 23 is her also?

ET2:

115 might be her alive.

ETA3 (sorry):

I am pretty sure it is her. They have the same earrings on and the nose matches. It appears to be later than the "live" picture as her hair has grown out some and she is wearing a different shirt (has a denim looking collar in the deceased photos and a much different shirt in the live photo). Poor woman.

How about 88? Her hair appears to be similar color to the woman in the car seat but otherwise I'm not sure.

I think the police probably already know quite a lot about which women are the same based on dates, clothing, things on the background of the photos that have been cropped and they could have made it easier for people to recognize the women if they'd grouped them accordingly and made the links between the persons more explicit (these are probably the same people, these were photographed the same day these photos are really old so it's someone who used to look like this in 1980 or so and these are newer... etc. )

Someone's researched photo 149:
The picture apparently shows Frenchie’s Patio Soul Food, which was located 8101 S. Western Ave. (323) 753-2614. The only mention in The Times is a 1998 story by Jocelyn Stewart about an annual day of dialogue on race relations begun in 1995 after the L.A. riots.

There are a couple of comments saying they recognize a few women.

See also the other links on the blog, they're pretty much thinking what we were wondering as well but the photoshops are really helpful:

donjeta I am working on one of your posts and trying to arrange the pictures so they don;t blow the margins. It'll be back out as soon as I am finished.

ETA: ok I had to rehost and stack some of your pistures so they wouldn't blow the margins. This is for post #7. If you want them to be side by side, we have to resize and repost. Otherwise they are ok now. Please let me know if you want them side by side and I can help you to do that.

OK, thanks. Sorry, my margins weren't blown and I didn't know there was a problem. It's okay the way it is.

It looks like 57 and 56 were photographed together:

In the pdf file, if you put the mouse over the photo you can see the image name and the others are DSCF something or P1010 something but this one photo is marshall(061).tif.

The one with the Chili pepper nametag could possibly have worked at a Chili's restaraunt, I think! Does anyone else recognize those nametags?

It appears others noticed the Chili's nametag, and it is NOT a Chili's logo? I was unable to distinguish whether you guys had already figured that out, but Gosh, it sure looks right to me!

mt-olive-sunshine-recreation.html

I can't make the picture show up.. but when I googled the Chili's logo, it looked exactly like that young girl's nametag.

Has Chili's ever changed their logo? Some companies make minor adjustments from time to time and if it's an old photo it could be an older version.

I think that you are right about the woman being the same one in all the photographs; however, while she looks impaired, I cannot tell if she is deceased. I am curious if he got them high? That could count for their appearance.

Correct me if I am wrong, he did work for a law enforcement agency? I wonder if while he was working in the motor pool if he had access to drugs.

Drugs could have been used to entice the individuals into his car. A prostitute may have went with him willingly. He would have been able to take them where he wanted to and even get them to leave his vehicle. At that point he could have shot them at his leisure?

I am so sad that it took the police such a long time to find this guy. Especially when he was working right under their noses.
