Yes, quite a coincidence. I can not be 100% certain my id is correct as I had to read the article without illustrations, thus I had to conclude that was the girl on the cover. Plus, KD, adult pictures online do resemble the girl. However, the Seattle conection and the strong resembalance makes me curious...

The cover is actually from August 1988, not 1986. And yes, the girl on the cover is named KD. I found an article from that year that talks about it. KD was 8-years-old at the time.

Yes, and there are plenty of online adult pictures of her. Although, you can see the features that look like Andrea the resembalance is much much less as an adult. Yet the mouth is spot on!

did anyone read that article? theres no chance that it names the half siblings, is there?
 
Since we are reading articles about children of the streets, here is a documentary of youngsters on the streets of Seattle; http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Streetwise_(1984_film) called "Streetwise" filmed in 1984. Wonder if we should send pics of "Andrea" to these folks (Martin Bell or Mary Ellen Mark) to see if they might recognize her??? The poster has a teen female on it that resembles her a lot, too!
Might be worth a shot.....

It did name the half sister, I did look that name up online and found a corresponding person but know what to know if this is the same person. No pictures.

I think checking out this documentary is a good idea. It certanitly can not hurt. I looked it up on line and I do see a girl who resembles Andrea. This was also a book. I am going to try and see if I can get the book or movie from the library.

Here is a link to a photo book by Mary Ellen Mark of the street kinds of Seattle from the movie streetwise. I think the girl Kim does resemble our Andrea, but I would not say they are the same.

Okay, so I am watching the documentary Streetwise. It is available on You Tube. I see this girl who definitly resembles Andrea. Her name in the documentary might be Kim but I am not sure. so I am watching, and eating a salad. When this girl who I notices looks like Andrea opens her mouth and says: " I'm adopted I don't even know who my parents are but I plan on finding them" Something similar to that. My salad goes flying out of my mouth. Could this be our Andrea???? there sure is a resembalance. This is a homeless steet kid in Seattle around 1984? What do you think??

It is really really close---but the nose still isn't quite right. Neither are the lips. Lastly, (although it is hard to tell in the B&W photos) it looks like Kim has freckles on at least one side of her nose???

I guess there is no harm to investigating this out further, though.
