Ive actually driven through Powhatan Correctional Center with my Uncle.At the time there was no other route across the river for 20 miles either way. Now that theyve added route 288, I would be surprised if the prison is still open to limited through traffic at all.

VERY intimidating place. Armed guards with rifles on watchtowers and several gates that had to be opened before we could make it through.

Much of the prison is rolling hills covered by fields allowing the guards to see for hundreds of yards.It would be next to impossible to escape from there.

If memory serves correctly they have a sizeable solitary confinement unit as well.

Strangely, I caught myself wondering how zapped was doing, too, a few days ago while reading WS :)!!!
 
I think JLM has been proven connected to one too many already. The process isn't fast. It's one by one and in different areas/states even longer, I would think. Waiting doesn't bring out the best of me but there won't be statements concluding the hunt for victims is over at this point. Maybe middle of the year or fall, but not yet. jmo

Coy said not to expect to hear of any new charges being brought because he has heard nothing to indicate that, so I won't get my hopes up yet, but at least they are talking!! :)

Oh good to know. Maybe it will be just a PC to keep the public engaged in the case...
 
I'm going to guess its an announcement about the DNA of criminals law passing the VA Senate.

Parker Slaybough just posted on FB that sources revealed to him that tomorrow's press conference is to announce that JM has been charged with HGs murder!!!!!! Praise!!!
 
Looks like they are still investigating his connection to others...

"Investigators are looking into his possible connection to other similar cases in the area. They include the August 2009 killing of Virginia Tech students Heidi Childs and David Metzler and the October 2009 killing of 23-year-old Cassandra Morton of Lynchburg, Virginia.

Police are also investigating Matthew's possible ties to the disappearance of 19-year-old Samantha Ann Clarke of Orange, Virginia."

Weren't Cassandra Morton's remains reportedly similar to Morgan Harrington's? Or was it someone else? IDK why but I've always had a hunch that he could be involved in Cassandra's disappearance and murder because of where her remains were found. I haven't followed her case closely, though so JMO.

Sounds like the remains have been there awhile. This part gave me a chill because of what we know about JM's history.>>>>> "Police say the bones were adjacent to a nature walk path that is part of Difficult Run Stream Valley Park." I agree, this will be interesting to follow. Thanks for the link.
