I did - couldn't make heads or tails out of it, but I think it was the first time I have ever seen them have that kind of convo....tried to read lips, but no go. Baez seemed animated LDB very circumspect (but I think that's just their respective demeanors...)

I am wondering if they are talkling about the preemptive strikes. That is the next big thing they have coming up and the judge is kind of asking them a big 'favor.' He seems to expect they will NOT use their legal amount of strikes. If they both used them there would be about 4 jurors left in the panel.

A tweet said (and I can do this math even though my brain is fried) if both sides used all their strikes (each have 8) there would be 1 juror left. SCARY!!!!

OMG imagine.... to start the whole process over again....

Did the man PJ on the stand make it or was he excused or struck? I had to go do dinner. Thanks :blowkiss:

2 - because that one lady is already in.

nope - nevermind - each side has 8 - that's 16 and if they used them all the only one left would be the lady that's already in.

The last man - options trader made it. There's a great thread stickied up top on the main Caylee page called retained jurors - or something similar. It has a great synopsis of each juror still "on board"

did we ever get confirmation about trial starting now on Thursday? That would fit - if HHJP is going to give the jurors one day - then they finish tomorrow Tue - Wed is day off and opening statements will be Thursday.

Wish they would confirm this

I'm leaving on a 3 day casino trip in the morning and it is just killing me to miss three days...I'm bringing my laptop, but it won't be the same. Doesn't look like I'll miss opening arguments though so I am pretty happy about that.

If the trial starts on Thursday I will miss the opening statements. It`s a big decision whether I fib to get out of my commitment or suck it up and catch the rerun. I`ve been waiting for JB`s explanation for almost three years. What a bummer. :tears:

Hope you have a terrific trip and glad you won`t miss the arguments.

And did anyone ever tell him?

Baez immediately asked for a sidebar, so I never heard if the judge instructed the deputies to tell the PJ what to do or if he is still standing out in the hall confused.

It's Elizabeth Fryer and she's with Mason's office, she argued a re attempt at another Frye hearing early last week that was denied.

Was he the last to be called for today? I hate that I missed the whole end of the hearing! Is HHJP swearing tomorrow? We have 17 now, correct?

That's what I want to know - I didn't hear the instructions but things were sliding sideways at that point and I wasn't as attentive as I might have been. I am confident that someone informed the fellow.

He was the last for today. HHJP is calling 3 or 4 tomorrow for the same thing. Also each team must prepare their strikes. He will swear the 17 tomorrow - then the strikes come in I believe

I may be wrong, but, I believe she is an intern in JB's law firm.

Isn't that Ms Fryer who is a lawyer in CM's office? She did rebuttal to a motion, was it part of the airtest information, very recently, and although she was nervous, it was very good. Not good enough to win the argument, but good. LOL - edited to add - oh look- Darnudes posted the complete and succinct information!

I had company come for a visit and have been away from the computer for a couple of hours.

When I left AF was going through the death penalty mitigation with the woman - potential juror 3163 - who had watched a lot of the news coverage on this case. She had been a teacher for many years, and I believe she was retired. She was very talkative. At that time, I think most here felt she would be dismissed.

Was she dismissed or is she coming back?
