Just saw a post her sister made for her on Facebook and came over to see if she has a thread yet. This is pretty close to me; I am in Wisconsin now (but barely!), and grew up in the UP.

If her sister (same last name, and I am 100% certain it really is her sister through a good friend of mine who spends the summers in munising) made a post on Facebook that is much more detailed than anything MSM has released, with info that feels pretty important, and has made the post public so that is can be shared as much as possible, are we allowed to post that here?

I don't think it's allowed to be linked unless it's on an official search page or LE page. If she posts the info in the comments of a news story we can link to the news story and say "interesting comment" but that's about it. If you can comment on her post, ask her to send the info to the local media or make a "Find Kara Moore" FB page dedicated to the search. We can usually link to the find page, just not personal family fb pages.

The search continues for Kara Moore, 55, who was last seen Friday, July 14th. Kara was hiking with her family in the Beaver Creek Wilderness area of Pictured Rocks. Her family reported her missing at 7:50 P.M. and searchers began to look for her around 8:30 P.M.

On Saturday July 19th, Michigan State Police canine teams, Michigan DNR conservation officers and Hiawatha National Forest staff joined National Park Service staff joined the search.
Multiple emergency personnel have searched on and off trails with ATV’s, canoes, helicopters, and motorboats. Michigan Backcountry Search & Rescue arrived Sunday evening to help, and a tactical tracking team from the Keweenaw Bay Tribal Police joined the search on Monday.

Since Moore went missing Friday evening, several local agencies have been helping the Park Service conduct the search, including K-9 teams and a helicopter.

So far, they've covered over a hundred miles around the Beaver Basin Wilderness, both on land and on water.
Susan Reece, National Park Service: "It is the only wilderness in the park. It's about 10,000 acres. It's more rugged terrain than some of our other areas of the park. There's lots of trails in there and bodies of water."

Another Park Service ranger explained, "This morning we covered the Fox River Pathway to 12-mile Beach Campground. And so now, all the trails in this area all the way to Mosquito Beach. We have a two person crew just finishing up on Mosquito Beach Loop Trail. So, that was our coverage for today."

Per her sister Sarah's Facebook page (15 mins ago), Kara has been found. It is worded a little confusing, but I am assuming she is going to be ok. Consider rumor until it is in MSM, but her sister is who has been posting all along, so I think we can expect to see it in MSM soon!
