I do have info on marriage in San Diego for him as well. (He was married in 1981 to a Rosemary) Looks like they divorced in 1982. There is a Gary Humphrey that went to Bloominton, IN high in 1957, but I do not know if it is the same Gary. There is a high school photo:

There is a Gary L Humphrey listed as lhaving lived in Colorado Springs, Canon City, and Divide, CO. (Don't know if it is the same guy)

I know exactly where this is! I was just researching Warner Springs resort a few weeks ago; they have astronomy overnight camping in the winter here for Anza-Borrego State park, and this was listed as an area hotel. This is high desert area, very hot in the summer (our car almost overheated here last summer on the 15 South!) There are mountains by Palamar but Warner Springs itself is in the desert. Beautiful but rugged area.
Warner Springs, Ca is an unincorporated part of San Diego Cty.

This town appears to be out in the middle of lots of land.
It is in San Diego Cty, but about over 2 hrs from there.

Ah...just noticed something. His DOB is different at each site. Charley says 9/28/1940. DOJ of CA says 9/18/1940. I am really starting to wonder if Lee is his middle name too, as I found several listings for Gary E Humphrey in San Diego area in the 1960's. Will see if I can find right date/name. He is not in NAMUS.

I wonder how Gary went missing. Think I will contact LE...

Good idea on contacting LE. We sure do not have much info.
If LE says Gary just disappeared, but has family close by, that would be helpful.
IF LE says it looks like foul play, etc, then we will know.

Painful experience dealing w/SD County sheriffs, did not want to give me any info at first, thought I was some kind of crackpot. After (hopefully intelligently) explaining myself, she gave me the # for the substation that would have his file---I will call tomorrow and see if I can find out more info about Mr. Humphrey.

Jules, I very rarely look at and comment on these possible matches, because so many, imo, bare no resemblence whatsoever to Mr. Kyle. (sorry, just being honest.)

But I think this Gary Lee Humphrey does resemble Mr. Kyle. Are there any photos available of him without the sunglasses?

I know Mr. Kyle said he went to the SE area of the states to 'see the ocean' but perhaps his memory is off, and he wanted to see the Atlantic side having seen the Pacific side.

Keeping my fingers crossed about this possible match.

It does seem that Mr. Humphrey has pierced ears? looking at the photo.

carolwood, I can't tell if he has pierced ears. The photo quality is just too poor to tell. Hopefully Jules will ask LE when she contacts them for more info.

Thanks Cubby. Frankly I have been busy and alittle afraid to call LE back--I had such a bad experience the other day. I just have to get my backbone back and call Mon.
