I just want to know why they have not gone in and gotten these hostages. We can storm into any other country. Why don't we save our own men. They have been there for years and you hardly ever hear about them. Why is our government not doing more?

These guys are actually employees/contractors of the company I work for. I have a yellow ribbon pin with each of their names on it.

Well I'm glad some people haven't forgotten them. I asked here at work today and nobody knows what I'm talking about. They have never heard of these hostages.

Maybe a mod can tack this thread onto this one here? http://www.websleuths.com/forums/showthread.php?t=57056&highlight=FARC Or the other way around.

Not because I started it! LOL But it keeps everything in the same place and I've been posting updates there. :)

Paladin I actually tried to send Marc Gonsalves a message, actually for all three of them, through the one website I have listed on the other thread. I hope he got it.... (ETA - I should say I started sending them last month, because I am going to send one each month on the 10th).

Imthemom that bugs me too that people don't seem to know about them... I'm happy to see your thread... I was kind of disappointed that my thread didn't get more 'life'... again, not because of me, but I don't want these guys forgotten!

Thanks JanetElaine, I didn't see your earlier thread but I am glad there is one. I hope they can merge them and I am definitely going to read your updates. I really want more attention on this in the U.S. news. It should be major headlines.

You're quite welcome, and me too! If only all the people who surround a certain Britney would pay that amount of attention to these guys. I mean the press and stuff, not posters here. There's gotta be something someone can do. And if not right now, well at least they should be in the limelight so people can pray for them or keep their fingers crossed or send them messages or whatever they choose.

We haven't forgotten them here in Texas, either. It was mentioned the other day on a talk radio show that's broadcast nationally, but they need to have a lot more attention focused on them.

Makes me sick to think of these people being held prisoner.

SAN JOSE DE GUAVIARE, Colombia — Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez announced that two hostages were freed by Colombian rebels Thursday, saying he spoke with the Colombian women by phone and they are being flown out of the jungle aboard Venezuelan helicopters.
Chavez said in Caracas that Clara Rojas — an aide to former Colombian presidential candidate Ingrid Betancourt — and former congresswoman Consuelo Gonzalez, would arrive in Venezuela within about three hours.

I am so happy these two women have been released. :woohoo: :woohoo: I hope Clara Rojas is reunited with her 3 year old son.

Wooo hooo some of the captors have been freed including 3 Americans!

Breaking news on http://www.cnn.com

:woohoo:

What terrific news, just in time to celebrate Independence Day! Sure wish they could've been released sooner ... but thankful they made it out alive!
Guess your company will be celebrating!

Yeah we're going nuts over here!

Story on cnn .com as a developing story

I guess I should change my post above, as I'm learning they were rescued, not released. Sorry for the error.

:woohoo: again!

From what I've read their families didn't know about the operation...so this must have been an incredible surprise.

I just read this in the newspaper here this morning! I am absolutely ecstatic!

Welcome home Marc Gonsalves, Keith Stansell and Thomas Howes!

And Ingrid Betancourt!

And the eleven other FREED hostages.

Just awesome.

The people in CR are absolutely ecstatic with this news ! You have no idea how many prayers have been said for Ingrid Betancourt and the other hostages here. To see them alive and relatively well is a blessing from God .

I am so happy they were rescued, and I am so happy the FARC got tricked !
