TKS S1 Ep 4: A Darkness on the Edge of Town

I'm probably late but have we ever actually looked east from the location. I'm about 45mins away for AC and live right off the extension of the BHP. Exactly east of where the 4 bodies were found is a beach town called brigantine. This more private beach community has some similarities to Long Island and has an area that could have been potentially another dumping ground. We may never know due to sandy but I think it should be looked at.

Very interesting, Hellatubby, thank you for sharing your observation. You're completely right. Maybe again, something to do with time spent in his youth, or a place he'd be looking from and he'd want the women he murdered looking back at him, in his cruel and savage mind's eye?

Ooh FindGH, I always love your posts... that's a chilling thought! :|

I believe that whoever killed the AC4 was from that immediate area. He had to know that seedy part of town and been a part of it. Perhaps a drug dealer? I used to drive by the Golden Key on my way out of town just about every weekend in 2006. "Normal" people knew that was NOT a place you wanted to be. It was downright scary and I am not the type that scares easily either. (I even met Denise Hill on my way out of town one early Monday morning when I stopped to get gas next to the GK.) That was not just a place he picked to turn into his dumping ground. He knew the place and most likely stayed there. I believe they were all killed there in the motel. That makes the most sense, in room 101 to be exact. There was direct access to the ditch from that room. If you have seen pics of the Golden Key, it is (was) a horseshoe shaped building. If someone came there to dump bodies, they would have to risk parking in the lot and carrying the body around the building. People came and went from there at all hours from dusk til dawn and it would have been a big risk of getting caught.
As far as the AC4 and the GB4 being related, I think it is very possible that he moved on to LI after the bodies were discovered in AC. If he did, he also "evolved" from street walkers to escorts on the internet. That was more out of necessity. I don't think Long Island was known for it's street walkers. Because he used the internet, he was able to choose the type of girl he liked (young, of small stature, etc.) He probably got to know these women through talking to them, and possibly saw them more than one time, making them let their guard down easier. I think this because of the way that some of the girls left their things and didn't follow their "normal protocols". I also think that there will be more discoveries of bodies in the future. They will be scattered though due to Hurricane Sandy..

Excellent post AC, and I like your insight! Thank you for giving us a mental visual of the Golden Key layout.

I was thinking that maybe he didn't kill them in the Golden Key? It would risk him being caught if the timeline of their deaths added up to him being in one of the rooms? (Maybe 101.) I don't know really, just speaking out loud.

I don't think anyone who went to the Golden Key used their real name when checking in. It wasn't the kind of place that wanted a credit card on file or a deposit for damages.

Oh no, sorry, I didn't explain well, I just meant if someone could describe their face/looks.

Hi everyone! I'm pretty new to WS. I joined after watching TKS. I lI've right outside of AC and I worked at one of the casinos at the time those poor girls were killed and drove up and down BHP every day for years. I've never forgotten about them and I have always wondered why local LE has done nothing to find the killer. Now since the show, I can't stop thinking about them. I was taking my son to his doctor in Somers Point this morning and we got re routed due to construction and ended up on the side of Pleasantville and I could see the AC skyline and it got me thinking that maybe the killer lives somewhere in the area? Not a fisherman or carnie like some have suggested but lives in one of the outside communities and maybe works in AC? He clearly knew the area like a local would, knowing people don't just hang out behind thode motels... I was trying to also figure out the exact spot Josh and Rachel went to that the AC Sleuth sent them to...it reminds me if the bay in Absecon and you can see the marina casinos from there and would be a great secluded area...and the ride back to BHP is a hop, skip and a jump....

Just moo, but my head has been spinning with possibilities since I watched this. I'm glad they showed this case, maybe someone will come forward and those poor girls families will finally have some answers.

Thanks,
Melissa

No need for apology. That is a possibility but that place was a steady stream of faces coming and going at all times of night and day. It was probably a forensic nightmare, too. Even if they had treated the scene as the site of a serial killing from the onset, with highly trained specialists, it would still have been a nightmare. Yes, it WAS THAT BAD!

Welcome Melissa. I have been thinking a lot about them, too. I hope someone at least went and left flowers or something in their memory for the 10 year anniversary. It is so sad that this case has not been solved all these years later.

Did you notice that the windmills were erected the same year that the women were killed? Maybe some type of traveling construction worker.

My thing is you never know what type of person are doing these things or the line of work they do. Just like the serial killer they caught in Washington, DC back around the same time Joel Rifkin was killing prostitutes. My Question would be did this guy just kill the women in DC. And did he travel also before he was caught? No one talks about him or who he was. He worked in the Pentagon for one & was Indian. I'm just saying Serial killers do kill in there own areas also. I feel it is more then one out there. What about any of the serial killers caught did they have children that have grown up & now doing the killings taking over where there father's left off. Those are just my thoughts & the one question Why not talk about the killings in Washington, DC from 1989 to 1993 & possible links to New York & Atlantic City.

I think Officer Burke seems suspicious as well. I believe these killings can be linked to satanism. The way some the killings were done are similar to other satanic serial killers. They were sexual, used a rope tourniquet, and he is killing with other people including being helped by corrupt cops like officer Burke. Satanists have a high sex, they use strangulation because they like to see pain.(Gacy called his rope tourniquet"The Rope Trick") Satanists are high, the one in San Francisco is led by an Army General-Temple Of Set) David Berkowitz had people helping him as well.

Finished watching the latest two episodes. Can someone tell what it was that guy said the group of truckers called themselves? I didnt catch it. I was suprised that he also gave them a name of one of them. Anyone think its legit, or is this guy just trying to gain some attention?

Sorry just realized I was on the Episode 4 thread.

I just finished this episode and I'm new on here. I did realize something about the body placements, however, that has probably been spoken about on here at length! The bodies buried, heads facing East- to me this could indicate something extremely important about individual committing these crimes. I'm rewatching Ep4 to see if anything here points to this theory.. Certain religions bury in this fashion, for different reasons, but typically to cleanse the soul. Then, occultism.. or a darker belief set. The clues here are obvious- way of death, body placement, burial, site. The geographical locations all lead to exactly who this is.

I think it's very possible that the bodies were staged facing east in the direction of the killer, either ritualistically or as a clue. He very well could be right under our noses. You know what the say about the simplest explanation...

We have no idea how the bodies of the GB4 were placed except for how far apart (approx.) they were from each other. As far as the AC4, I think the placement of their bodies was NOT any "distance" crap. Nor do I think the "Eastbound" Strangler holds any validity. I believe in the AC case, the killer came from the same direction every time to dump the bodies. He came from the Golden Key (area) and walked East....I am so freaking bad with directions, but out the back door and to the right of the motel, and heaved the bodies left into the drainage ditch. Carrying them with their heads over his left arm. They landed on their backs and landed with their heads in the water, partially hiding them in the reeds. Rain water and the current in that ditch turned their head to the East towards the city. I think the press ran away with the "Eastbound Strangler" *****. The Egg Harbor township police were NOT experts in SK's (Maybe the reason why they never investigated the Golden Key until it was way too late?! They screwed the entire investigation!) Who knows what forensic evidence they have, but if this guy (the killer) had a foot fetish, it may not be a lot. I know guys with foot fetishes and they do NOT have to have sex (conventional) with a woman to get sexual gratification (which would probably leave no forensic evidence on the bodies) I believe the foot fetish part concerning the AC4, but we cannot make that connection to the GB4 because we do NOT have any details from the crime scenes and what was /not found) unless I missed something? There are too many missing pieces to these cases to even try to make a hypothesis. LE (especially in LI) need to loosen up and let some leads out into the public, if for nothing else than to jog SOMEONE'S memory during that time. No matter how small the lead, it only takes ONE PIECE to solve the puzzle!
