EAST CLEVELAND– Family and friends of 18-year-old Shirellda Terry stood in the scorching sun Thursday afternoon, some in the middle of the street, making sure every person who passed by Saint Clair and East 147th Street got a flyer with the missing girl’s picture on it.

I don't know if this is going to be related but a second body has reportedly been found in the last two days at a residence at the corner of Shaw and Hayden Ave. This is several miles east of the East 93rd area that the other bodies were found. Suspect is in custody.

One of the women had a leopard print robe on and the other had an orchid tattoo on her thigh. Police believe the women were killed within six to ten days.

How did LE come to find the first body?

These three found in abandoned homes, wrapped in plastic do sound like a serial. But how long have they been there? How did LE get notified to look there?

Are they connected to the other deaths?

According to East Cleveland Police Chief Ralph Spotts, the two bodies appear to be black females, although it is hard to determine because the bodies are so badly decomposed. One of the victims has a tattoo of a pink and green flower on her leg. Police said the other woman was wearing a purple leotard.

According to authorities, the woman were likely killed in the last six to ten days. East Cleveland community members will search vacant houses on Sunday to make sure there are no more victims.

Saturday, Chief Spotts said Michael Madison, 35, is the prime suspect as of now.

This article from early April says a second suspect was arrested for other assaults, and was being questioned in the East Side attacks. Article does not give his name. Can't find anything else about him after that.

So police are questioning suspects regarding the recent attacks-plural-and yet still maintaining they are unrelated?

Quoting my own post from earlier. Seems like a different m.o., but the killings are not all that far from the other killings and the attack on Raven Freeman on the East side. Wonder if MM is the second suspect that was questioned in those?

They have the suspect in custody. They believe he may have murdered more. They will update us tomorrow.

According to the chief, the first victim was 5' 3" and weighed 110 llbs. The second victim was wearing a green hoodie, and had a tattoo of a pink and green flower on her left thigh. The third victim was wearing a purple leopard print top.

The mayor of the Cleveland suburb where three bodies have been found says the suspect in their deaths may have been fascinated with an Ohio man convicted in 2011 of killing 11 women and hiding their remains on his property.

East Cleveland Mayor Gary Norton said the 35-year-old suspect, identified to Fox8.com by East Cleveland's police chief as Michael Madison, is a registered sex offender and has served prison time. Norton said that in police interviews, the suspect led them to believe he might have been influenced by Anthony Sowell, who was sentenced to death for his crimes and remains in prison.

Theory only:

I've been thinking about the remains that they are finding. It may seem unusual to have two possible serial killers (sk) in the same city at the same time. But they caught Sowell in '11. And it could be that he is the type that serials look up to or compare themselves with (how do I know how a sk thinks?) So hearing about him, about the number of murders he committed before getting caught, may have excited or encouraged a couple to begin or to become more active.

(My theories are mostly guesses)

That makes sense, mysteriew, because taking into consideration the locations, apparent MO, and timing, it would seem there are at least two killers at work. I'm waiting for more information, but I think we might end up splitting the thread in two and moving both to the SK forum.

Dang, I read a report where a guy said he was locked up with this lunatic and said he was unstable and alluded to his fascination with Sowell. The guy gave his name. I'm going to go back and look for it. When and for how long was he locked up and how much was he yapping?

Police used warrants to search the garage and the apartment across the alley, both of which are rented by Madison.

A car which he had access to was also towed from the scene.

The FBI, BIC and Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's office is on scene assisting East Cleveland Police.
