When we say victim friendly we mean all those that are immediately victimized by what appears to be a terrible crime. This includes the family that is missing a 7 year old child for the love of God.
You are free to discuss your opinions on statements made, possible doubts you may have or questions raised by the information or lack thereof. But if you start throwing around careless accusations against the family or sleuthing out their personal information or discussing the color of lipstick someone was wearing, you will be given a no expense paid vacation.
If the situation changes and if the investigation by LE points back to the family then these rules will change. We roll with the news and as more information is revealed and as LE gives us information, we adjust. As I have said, imagine this is your child and people are looking at YOU. Moreover, stereotyping some of these players is positively embarrassing to the forum. KNOCK IT OFF!

Carried over from thread # 11 - Originally posted by JBean

All we are asking on this forum is for care and respect to be shown before throwing a family under a bus.A family that has a missing 7 year old.

We are not asking you to ignore behavior, statements to the press or anything else the family says or does. Feel free to discuss what you see and think. Link facts and stop rumors, that's what we like to do.

If you feel censored here then please post at a forum where they do not moderate and you can say anything you like. We do moderate and some people like it and some people don't. We know we cannot please everyone and so we do not try. We stay true to what we think is right and for now not accusing the family is in line with LE and that is the tact we will take. You can be suspicious of whomever you choose, just be cautious in your posting. As always it is not ok to sleuth family members on this board until they have been named as a POI or a suspect or LE leads us to believe they are being considered actively.

As always, if this changes we will roll with it and we will adjust. But to lay out a families personal affairs when they are not even on the radar at this time is just wrong. There will be plenty of time to investigate if things change and often they do.

Many of you continue to make comments ( direct and indirect) about your disapproval of our guidelines. It disrupts the flow of the thread and we are all growing weary of it.

I am asking, again, to please stop.

Thanks.

RE: not hearing questions from the media.

Since this is a church that is reported to be a historic site and not in use, they probably do not have a sound system on site to provide a mic for questions. If any of those who have been contacting media by e mail were interested in doing so, they could request that the stations doing the live feeds set up such a microphone. I am sure that LE personnel are needed for more important duties, and the media tech crews are probably spending hours just sitting in the satellite trucks waiting for something to do next.

Scandi, if you drive over, any photos of the layout of the land would be awesome.

Also, at mile marker 4 on Reeder Road, a group of eight people sighted a cougar crossing Reeder Road on May 4. Could you get a photo of that section of roadway and both sides of the road? I'm really curious to see what kind of habitat a cougar would feel at home.

Thank you for your offer.

Coincidentally, when I was googling last night I came across this story from 2007 http://www.katu.com/news/local/10127941.html

I found an address for him on Reeder Road, not sure how current it was/is. I searched for him on the RSO website, but could not find him. Also looked to see if he was in jail/prison, but could not find him there either. Guessing the guy is no longer alive or in Oregon. It was a thought anyway.

I keep seeing post about someone should have seen it coming and we will be shocked at who it is or something to that effect.

I missed something here. Is there a history of abuse, or some kind of motive I am not getting? Or am I reading this wrong and you think it is someone other than family? I try to look at Motive, Opportunity, and Means. Right now the only motive I see if this is a kidnapping or murder would be a SO. Opportunity was there at the busy school, and means, all you need was a good line, or lure and a car, possibly something to knock a kid out and put them in the trunk of a car, given there is no videos on the school or parking lot.

It's not the registered sex offenders I'm worried about. Not as much, anyway.

"As of this afternoon, the search-and-rescue crews will have completed the mission that we set out for them," said sheriff's Capt. Monte Reiser. "And that mission was to search -- and in many cases search two or three or more times -- every location of interest.

"That includes an extremely wide area of land around the school, around the home and the land in-between," Reiser said. "It also includes a number of individual locations that have come up as a result of tips and investigative leads that we have been working."

The search crews "have done an exceptional and very thorough job in difficult terrain and, at times, under extremely difficult circumstances," Reiser said. "To that end, most of the search-and-rescue crews will be going home today."

I'm with you. It's always the SOs - the ones who have not yet been caught - the ones we have not yet identified - the ones who freely walk among our children - who worry me the most.

I'm confused too.

Just a quick observation.........I just watched the full video of the presser from today. I saw that when the 4 parents came in, Desiree took Terri's hand, and then the speaker stood right in front, so I couldn't see it anymore. At least once, a while later, he moved and I did see that the 2 moms were still holding hands. I was glad to see that, after the comments the other day about the body language between the 2 of them. I watched on a 22 inch screen, and was trying to pay attention to the reactions between the moms.

o/t sorta

from all accounts, there was a huge outpouring of donations of food, water, etc., for the search teams. It would be nice to see those donated to homeless shelters, battered women's shelters, salvation army, whatever. I hope it doesn't go to waste.

When Joesph Duncan cruised into rural Idaho looking for victims he was not a registered SO in that state either.

He came in from another state.

And he took his victims to an isolated location.

IMO

Hi Bern -- What I am saying is that IMO it will be someone known to the family that nobody would suspect, thus my using of the word shocked. Once there is a POI or an arrest made, I think people will look at different things along the way, that when added together in context to this person, they will make sense to them. Does that make sense?

I guess they've heard what's being said around the interwebs, too.

All I see are 4 completely devastated parents. I don't see "step" anything.

06/12 Kyron Horman Search

PNW responded with 27 members in the field on a hot day that brought the usual challenges of terrain and brush.

A new challenge was bees and poison oak. PNW split into 4 teams, and attacked their various assignments with vigor and determination.

PNW has been asked to respond again tomorrow.

I'm confused too.

Me too BeanE. I have read every word written and watched every video and I just don't have a clue what has happened to this sweet little boy. What are my old eyes not seeing?

I am going to keep on praying for Kyron that he will be found safe and sound.
