"Killing Field" in League City, Texas- Calder Rd Cold Cases

From post 51 in the media links only thread.
They reported on the 25th of this month an arrest of a security guard
for some killings and possible involvement in 20 others......

Not sure how close in the area he lives and so forth.
Have not read the articles or any in dept reading on him yet.

But I hope they try and see if he may had been responsible for those
whom had there cars/trucks found abandoned on the road side when they were being investigated as missing.

Waiting to see if he ever pulled anyone over.

You can tell by looking at the missing persons and or those found killed look similar in there appearance.
You could group some of them together and considered them being murdered by the same person.
Which is why I am assuming they said there are more then one responsible for these killings.
Some perhaps are random in nature. But others fit a particular pattern as far as appearance is concerned.

LE should group these girls whom look alike and see if there disappearance match any of the physical evidence collected.
Or similarities in there disappearance such as where they occurred, if they had there vehicles found abounded etc.

Good Post. You are correct, physical appearance can be a factor. That's one reason we need more information on the girls that we don't have pictures for. It would help

One girl we have nothing on as far a physical appearance is Nina Lynn Kluge. She attended Cypress High School and would have graduated in 1977. A picture would be helpful.

The above link is the best account I could find on the Edward Harold Bell story. He seems to have had pretty detailed information. I would think a serious interrogation would settle the matter. He is 72 and is not likely to get out of prison alive. I don't see any obvious reason to indict. Offer him immunity for full co-operation with the understanding that he won't be paroled for the crime he is doing time for now (he probably doesn’t expect it anyway). This will give them a chance to "clear" these cases and give the families a little closure. The only thing I can see stopping them is that little matter of Michael Lloyd Self. It’s bad enough that an innocent man died in prison after doing 28 years but the whole story of how his conviction was obtained in the first place would come out.

I doubt anyone who was involved in that prosecution is still employed with the Galveston PD or the D.A.'s office but there is "institutional pride". There is also the issue of how any additional information on any of the cases may have been handled after Self's conviction. I would be particularly interested in how the Galveston D.A.'s office dealt with Bell's 1998 letter. Sure, when one con, doing life, comes forward and confesses to a crime that another con is doing time for, BS alarms start to go off. Understood. But Bell was also confessing to a number of long cold unsolved cases. I would have expected them to take a very serious look. Why didn't they?

27 Houston boys lost their lives because of this monster in the 70's.
Never heard of him either.
http://crime.about.com/od/serial/p/dean_corll.htm

The most disturbing thing about the Dean Coril story is that it was "solved" when one of the accomplices came forward after he had killed Coril. The Houston PD had no idea that any murders had occured or that any young boys were missing. The 27 missing boys were "written off" as "runaways" and nobody paid attention to the pleas from the parents. Not Texas Law Enforement's finest hour.

That happens quite frequently. If you think it doesn't take a look at Louisiana and look up missing men. They have a map and it has markers on top of markers. An unbelievable number of murders!

Missing men are very often called runaways and so are teenage girls. Check out Florida and SC..........very disturbing!
