I belong to a few forums, but I had no idea what these meant.

A few more I don't see on the list:

AR: Autopsy Report
BTW: By The Way
FFJ: Forums For Justice
IIRC: If I Recall Correctly
IMHO: In My Humble Opinion
IMHBSO: In My Humble But Superior Opinion
KWIM: Know What I Mean?
LEO: Law Enforcement Officer
MAAM: Middle Aged Asian Male (a theory once proclaimed by a former poster about the SFF)
NE: National Enquirer
PDNFTT: Please Do Not Feed The Trolls
SG: Stan Garnett

(BTW, dazeerae... Excellent idea. I know I was stumped a few times when I first showed up on the forum.)

FYI, otg, IIRC, the NE reported a WM leads the SFF. MAAM, IMHSO, is OTH. LEOs are keeping it on the DL, KWIM? JMO, but SG is ITK. DYT? MOO.

Lol.

FYI: for your information
OTH: off the hook
DL: down low
ITK: in the know
JMO: just my opinion
LOL: laugh out loud

dazeerae, this was a great idea. I was lost, at times, when I first began posting here!

I'm just realizing that there is a time limit on editing posts at Websleuths. Since I can't add the suggested abbreviations to the first post, we can just leave this as a running thread for members to post additional abbreviations. Thanks for the suggestions!

only tonic (and) gin? <---- redhead's favorite summertime drink (except for a margarita, a malibu and pineapple juice or a cosmopolitan)
overly touchy gentleman?

:floorlaugh:

:loveyou:

( dazeerae, sorry, didn't mean to hijack your thread... it just fit so well :) )

My vote in bold.

A "gnome"? Isn't that something like a troll? Really?

And "overly touchy"? I don't think so (I certainly hope not anyway).

(The "otg" really isn't as mysterious or profound as it might appear. It's no secret. I explained it on my "Visitor Messages" when someone asked.)

BTW, I ran across another one a few days ago looking at an older thread:

AFAIK: As Far As I Know
