Much more at link, including mug shots.DES MOINES — Sixteen-year-old Sabrina Ray of Perry was "drop-kicked" by her adoptive brother down their basement stairs and tortured and held captive by other family members before her death, according to law enforcement officials who announced three more arrests Wednesday in the case.

Bousman is accused of assisting in kidnapping and torturing Sabrina, who was disabled, as well as two other adopted girls in the home and helping cover up Sabrina's May 12 death and the girls' injuries, court records filed in Dallas County show.
Bousman was charged with first-degree kidnapping, child endangerment causing death and obstructing prosecution or defense for allegedly altering evidence at the crime scene and providing false evidence.
A niece, Josie Raye Bousman, 20, has been charged after she allegedly admitted she helped injure Sabrina, and that she also helped keep her confined and denied her food and water, according to the complaint.

Sabrina and the two other girls were “secretly confined and had suffered unreasonable force, torture and cruelty for an extended period of time,” according to the complaint.

Sabrina was dead when authorities arrived at the home of Marc and Misty Ray on May 12, the complaint states. Justin Ray was home, while Marc and Misty Ray were on a trip to Disney World.
According to court documents, Sabrina suffered serious injury and was unable to walk, talk, eat or drink following that act. The incident happened sometime between March 1 and May 12 of 2017."
So this child was unable to walk, talk, eat or drink since between March and May and she has been in that state ever since and this is July?????
rsbm for focus. i may be misinterpreting your post but wanted to clarify just in case. You seem to be saying Sabrina has been unable to walk/talk/eat/drink from May (or earlier) until July. But Sabrina was found deceased in the home on May 12th. Not intending to diminish how horrible this is in any way.

PERRY, Iowa -- The home Marc and Misty Ray was allegedly burglarized as the couple remains in jail awaiting trial for the abuse of their adopted daughter, Sabrina Ray.
Justin Dale Ray, 22, pleaded guilty to two counts of willful injury. Sabrina Ray, 16, was found dead May 12 at the home of her foster parents in Perry. In the weeks before Sabrina died, Justin drop-kicked her down a basement staircase, leaving her unable to walk, talk, eat or drink normally, prosecutors have said.
District Judge Terry Rickers sentenced Justin to 10 years in prison after he pleaded guilty at the Dallas County Courthouse in Adel. The judge called his behavior "cold and cruel and despicable."
Josie Raye Bousman, Sabrina's 20-year-old cousin, is charged with three counts of kidnapping, child endangerment causing death and obstructing prosecution. She helped keep Sabrina confined and denied her food and water, according to a criminal complaint.
Her trial is scheduled to begin March 26.
The adoptive grandmother of a malnourished teenager who died last May has reached a plea agreement with prosecutors.
Court documents show 63-year-old Carla Bousman will appear at the Dallas County Courthouse in Adel on April 6 for a plea hearing. The documents do not specify what charges Bousman will plead to.
Carla Bousman, 63, was sentenced to 20 years in prison Friday after pleading guilty to neglect of a dependent person, accessory after the fact, obstruction of prosecution, two counts of false imprisonment and two counts of child endangerment.
Dallas County District Court Judge Terry Rickers accepted Bousman's plea Friday and ruled that the sentences for each crime should run consecutively for a total of 20 years the maximum sentence allowed under the plea deal.
"After hearing what you had to tell the court today, there is absolutely no doubt in my mind that the maximum sentence in this case is the only appropriate sentence," Rickers said. "Grandmothers are supposed to be special to their grandkids. Grandmas are supposed to spoil their grandkids."
Rickers said Bousman's contact with her grandchildren "was nothing but a nightmare for them."
Marc Alan Ray, 42, and Misty Jo Bousman-Ray, 41, entered pleas of not guilty to charges of ongoing criminal conduct, first-degree theft and first-degree fraudulent practice Tuesday in Dallas County District Court, according to online court documents.
Jake Feuerhelm, a lawyer for Marc Ray, has said the charges deal with funds the Rays received from the Iowa Department of Human Services.
Online court documents filed Wednesday show a change of motion hearing will be held on June 20th for Marc and Misty Ray. The couple is claiming an unbiased jury cannot be found in Dallas County due to pre-trial publicity about the case -- as well as a similar case involving the recent trial of Nicole Finn.
