Gerard Baden-Clay to stand trial for murder

March 20, 2013

Before a packed court room on Wednesday morning, Chief Magistrate Brendan Butler ordered Mr Baden-Clay face trial in the Supreme Court

‘‘I'm of the opinion the evidence is sufficient to put the defendant on trial on the offences charged,’’ Mr Butler said.

‘‘It will be for the jury to assess the evidence ...

As Mr Butler formally committed Mr Baden-Clay to stand trial, he asked the 42-year-old real estate agent to stand.

‘‘You are charged that on or about the 19th day of April 2012 at Brisbane in the state of Queensland you murdered Allison June Baden-Clay,’’ Mr Butler said.

‘‘You are further charged that on or about the 19th of April 2012 at Brisbane in the state of Queensland you improperly interfered with a dead human body,’’ Mr Butler said.

Jurors visit Kholo Creek & Brookfield

Wonder when the jury will be out at the bridge, mum lives 5 minutes, not even from there, so tempted to go for a few drive by's!!! Weird??? Just fascinated....
. I'm another one obsessed- no connection to the family at all, although a close friend was good friends with Allison at IGGS (which someone mentioned before where the girls are now- I believe they are all at IGGS)
I'm a crime fanatic anyway, and it being so close to home I guess really sucked me in..plus I saw the original news report on the 20th April, and straight away I knew (well assumed) he killed her.... And also the thoughts at the time that, wow- that so could have been me-with the cheating , narcissistic, controlling, belittling husband, although we had no financial issues.. Still, rather pleased he just left ;)

The bridge area will be cordoned off while the scene is viewed by the judge, jury and lawyers from both sides.

The jury will then be escorted to Brookfield, where Allison was reported missing from her family home.

Justice Michael Byrne has told the jury the tour is not evidence, but will help them understand and interpret evidence.

Baden-Clay will not be attending.

Report from last Thursday....

June 19, 2014

Justice John Byrne told the jury they would visit the Kholo Creek Bridge and the former Baden-Clay home on Monday as part of a site view.

“You should have clothing that is suitable for outdoors,” he told them.

He warned them against approaching or considering a memorial at the bridge and said the media had been informed not to identify them on the view

Media has been pushed far back now, ready for a police road block to be put in place.

I just drive through Brookfield and there a bunch of journos and camera crews camped outside the house. Hopefully there'll be something interesting on the news tonight.
