Girl stopped van after mom went into diabetic coma

Abigail told police her mother had started driving erratically at about 80 mph. The girl said she climbed from the rear seat of the van onto the woman's lap and managed to stop the vehicle before calling 911.

What a wonderful child!

We hear so many negative things about children these days, isn't it absolutely marvelous to hear of one who uses quick-thinking initiative?

Besides stopping the van, Abigail kept her mother and 8-year-old brother calm and informed paramedics about her mother's condition, Swisher said.

Supergirl, or what!

Having low blood sugar is no joke. You can't think straight nor rationalize. Obviously the child was told by the mother what to look for. But quick thinking on this girl's part!

So glad you picked this thread up, gman. diabetes really is dangerous in many ways.

yes, little one must have been taught what to look for from, probably, an early age and my goodness she bloody well knew what to do, bless her. right down to reassuring her little brother.

her reward? her family is intact! :woohoo:
