Victorian police will exhume 179 bodies in attempts to solve missing persons going back almost 50 years.
A taskforce expects to identify most of the unknown people, many of whom have been buried in paupers graves.
They believe the exhumations will bring relief to many families who have lived for decades not knowing the fate of their lost loved ones.

    Lets hope so.

When someone you love is missing, it is the not knowing that causes most problems, stress, hoping that they will walk through the door any minute, waiting to hear some news.

This will put the minds of those who have lost someone at ease if it is one of their family or friends, they will finally have closure one way or the other.

As somber as it is, this is great news IMO!!! Rarely will you see authority admit wrong-doing and then try to fix the problem. I hope all of these bodies can be identified and maybe even given the burial they deserve!
