So many of the women appear to be topless or atleast have their top drawn up above their chest.

I feel so sorry for them.

Some are clearly taken in the van and mobile home. Others appear to be random, candid shots taken in various locations. I'm surprised LE only recovered 180 photos. I get the feeling this guy liked to carry his camera around taking pictures of women.

One shot (149, iirc) looks like a photo taken from the driver's seat of his vehicle of a young woman just walking by, which says he might not have had actual contact with all of the women.

Many have their eyes closed but are clearly awake, as some are smiling selfconsciously as though he asked them to pose that way. But several are obviously unconscious or deceased.

Many of the women posed topless or semi-topless, but a few who appear to be topless, imo, are wearing halters or bandau tops, which is pretty common for southern California. I say that because, although we see their bare shoulders, their poses are relaxed and natural.

I wish I had the time to physically group the images into categories and compare them side by side.

LE recovered 1000. IIRC-they did some matching and believe they have 180 distinct women.

Personally, it seems clear to me that some of them are dead, so there have to be before and afters... Good God.

I did a quick run through-can someone with another eye check on these for me?

1.) Are 5 and 7 of the same person?
2.) 12 and 92 appear to be of a child, maybe two?
3.) Are 22 and 38 of the same woman?
4.) Are 37, 39 and 58 of the same woman?
5.) 46 looks like there is a caucasian shoulder with a white tank top behind the woman.
6.) Do 75, 76 and 77 have matching tats- Keandrey Up
7.) 81 and 82-are they of the same woman
8.) 112 and 122 appear to be men to me...

I think there are more that match up, but I would have to print them out.

Here is my thought-If he operated in the same general area, there are braiding salons that might recognize their own work. Many of these women had their hair braided....JMVHO.

It would be more accurate to say:

"Police discovered more than 1,000 photos in Franklin's home as well as undeveloped film, a video camera, and dozens of videotape. Kilcoyne says it took the department almost five months to process and develop the film and make still photographs of the hundreds of hours of video footage. Investigators then whittled the photographs and footage down to 180 images of people they couldn't identify."

In other words, it is obvious that in some cases, there is more than one image included in the 180 of the same person. It does not mean there are 180 people left to be identified. They know there are doubles, and in some cases triples.

"Just a few hours after 180 photos of women and teenage girls seized from the home of alleged Grim Sleeper suspect Lonnie Franklin Jr. were released, the Los Angeles Police Department began fielding calls.

One caller said one of the women in the collage of photos had died of cancer in the 90s. Another person called to say that they recognized another woman but only knew her first name."

Need to put them side by side to say anything. There are so many of them :(

    [IMG] [IMG]

My first impression is that the eyebrows and the foreheads are different but I could be wrong.

You could be right but I'm not sure the blurry one can be definitively identified based on that photo.

    [IMG][IMG]

It looks like they do. Could it be the same girl, different hair? It's Kendreay Up. There is a matching piercing under the lower lip on at least two of them.
    78's got one too.

    [IMG][IMG]

That's what I thought, and maybe the police as well because they put the two photos next to each other.
    59 too, I think. [IMG]

It was my first impression as well. Dunno.

Thank you guys-since I misread the article, I thought that LAPD believed there were 180 unidentified women. Gulp.

How about the braiding shops? I wonder if they have been wondering where some of their regulars are... :(

It looks like 57 and 56 were photographed together:

And the child in 48 and the woman with sunglasses in 49 have been cut out of the same photo:

When I squint it looks like the carrot says "Maxine", what do you think?
    [IMG][IMG]

Does this look like a mugshot to anybody else?
In the pdf file, if you put the mouse over the photo you can see the image name and the others are DSCF something or P1010 something but this one photo is marshall(061).tif.

Donjeta, you see exactly what I saw in terms of the mug, the names etc...I think the tats might help as well, the few we can see.

Know what I am afraid of? Because these are women who were on the edge of society, no one is looking for them. :(

What do you guys think about 105-do you think he scratched her eyes out of the picture?

It certainly looks like Kendreay Up to me but is there any chance it could be RIP? I don't know what it could mean if it was Up.

Do you think they look similar?

Ms. 92 on the left and Ingrid Siomara Contreras on the right.
    [IMG] [IMG]
She is missing from LA since 2001 and the resemblance struck me but the teeth might be wrong? I could see some similarity in a couple of other photos as well.

I think it is Kendreay RIP as you said. I think 151 and 166 are the same person, as in the nursing assistant, the photo 166. I think some are dead as well, not just sleeping but JMO. Especially the woman with the red hair in the car...passenger seat.

So he shot them will a small caliber pistol-does anyone think he might have drugged them first before he shot them?

One more thought for the night and then I have to step away for a while-I wonder if he made them shave their hair? Those who ended up being victims or he perhaps like to ask for the same woman if they were prostitutes and they had different looks?

    For example:
    http://www.latimes.com/media/photo/2010-12/58313290.jpg http://www.latimes.com/media/photo/2010-12/58313293.jpg

These are two Kendreay RIP women. If they are the same person, one has a stud under her lip and one has a spot where there was a stud. One has glasses and styled hair, one seems to have closely shaved hair. One could be a thinner version of the other, judging by the collar bones.

It's funny-I think it is so important that people call in. I hope that the women are all OK. I keep worrying about the crime, not just the images so I am sorry to go off topic.

Omg yes, there are a few deceased pictures in there for sure. So creepy. I noticed two of them are located in the passenger seat of the same car. I wonder if they were women he picked up and just killed them right off the bat....eek...

I am hoping this is not a TOS violation, if so please delete it, but I was looking for pictures of missing black women. It is heartbreaking to see so many stories there that I have never heard a single word about. Maybe it will be of some help.

It IS a heartbreak, impatient. I have spent a ton of time on Monica Bowie's case, for example, and if she were Natalle Holloway she might get much more attention...but i digress.

Here's 151 and 166. Is the upper lip the same? The nursing aide seems to have a shallower groove under the nose.
    [IMG][IMG]

I thought 151 might be the same person as Deborah D from Cleveland. If she's the nursing aide too would that make her Deborah Johnson?
There is one Deborah Johnson missing on Charley Project but it's a Caucasian woman, and another D. Johnson missing in California but it doesn't look like the same person to me.
    http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/j/johnson_deretha.html
Another D. Johnson missing from Florida who has a somewhat similar white hat but they seem to have a good suspect in that case. http://www.charleyproject.org/cases/j/johnson_donyelle.html
