A judge refused to throw out the defamation lawsuit against Casey Anthony, filed by Zenaida Gonzalez. Judge Rodriguez, Monday, denied her defense team’s motion to get Casey’s civil case dismissed.
A pre-trial hearing is scheduled in her check fraud case for December 18, with the trial set for January 25. Her defense team has asked that the trial be moved out of Orange County, but a judge has yet to rule on that.

A judge in the civil case involving Casey Anthony ruled this week that he would not dismiss the lawsuit. Orange Circuit Court Judge Jose R. Rodriguez issued the decision on Monday.

Judge Jose R. Rodriguez has denied a motion to dismiss a defamation lawsuit filed by woman who claims Casey Anthony damaged her reputation.

Team coverage of the Casey Anthony story has brought two Central Florida TV stations Emmy nominations.
WFTV-Channel 9 was cited for "Caylee Anthony Found." WESH-Channel 2 was recognized for "The Case Against Casey." The two stations are the only nominees in the team coverage category of the 2009 Suncoast Regional Emmy Awards.

"The civil case against Casey will go on," WESH-Channel 2 anchor Syan Rhodes said. "Judge Jose Rodriguez denied the defense's motion to dismiss the case."
WFTV also reported that Dominic Casey, the private investigator for the Anthony family, is trying to avoid a Nov. 12 deposition by prosecutors in the murder trial.
The private eye "claims that since he worked for Casey's defense team at one time, he cannot be forced to answer questions," West said.
