When 48 HOURS MYSTERY Correspondent Harold Dow died suddenly last month, he was completing more than a year's work on the intricate tale of Rodney Alcala. On Saturday, Sept. 25 (10:00-11:00 PM ET/PT), 48 HOURS MYSTERY will pay tribute to Dow when it broadcasts his final story, "The Killing Game," as its season premiere on the CBS Television Network. Featuring Dow's exclusive interviews with Alcala's ex-girlfriend, girls Alcala had approached, investigators, and victims' family members, the season premiere will be presented by Harold's nephew, Jay Dow, a correspondent for WCBS in New York and a contributor for CBS News.

I watched much of it, they focused on the known cases and court process. They didn't really refer to the pictures until the end and then just gave a link to their website for people to look and provide information.

    Serial Killer's Secret Photos

When Huntington Beach, Calif., detectives searched Rodney Alcala's Seattle storage locker during the Robin Samsoe murder investigation in 1979, they discovered a cache of photos, many of them young women in suggestive, and even pornographic poses.

In March 2010, after a third jury in 30 years handed Alcala a death sentence, Huntington Beach police released more than 100 of those photos hoping to identify the women and some children, and learn if Alcala claimed still more victims.

Most of those who have been identified are alive and well. But investigators continue to get new tips every day.

If you have information about the people in the following images, please contact Huntington Beach Police Det. Patrick Ellis at 714-375-5066 begin_of_the_skype_highlighting 714-375-5066end_of_the_skype_highlighting or pellis@hbpd.org.

I was so saddened to hear about Harold Dow's passing. A remarkable and gifted reporter. I thought he was the best reporter on 48 Hours.
My deepest sympathy to his family and friends.
