Judge To Rule On Motions Next Week In Casey Case

http://www.wftv.com/news/27117023/detail.html
Defense attorneys for Casey Anthony will have to wait about 2 weeks to find out if their attempt to keep key evidence out of the trail was a success.

Four days of crucial hearings wrapped up Monday. The defense doesn't want jurors to hear about the lies Casey told to investigators and her family, as they tried to figure out what happened to Caylee.

WFTV’s legal analyst Bill Shaeffer said the defense has a lot to lose if the damaging statements are included because they put Casey in a bad light.

"Because the state will show her pattern of lies, lies, lies and her demeanor is totally inconsistent with a mother whose child is missing,” said Shaeffer.

WFTV will update as soon as Chief Judge Belvin Perry rules on this issue.

Defense depositions show glimpse into possible strategy

http://insession.blogs.cnn.com/2011/03/08/defense-depositions-show-possible-glimpse-into-strategy/

Jose Baez asks Kronk how far he lifted the skull from the ground and Kronk falters. He doesn’t know exactly how much or even if he really lifted it off the ground completely. At this point in the deposition, Baez keeps pushing Kronk seemingly seeking to discredit Kronk’s story and possibly suggesting that he may have tampered with the body. A break is called in the deposition so that Kronk can compose himself after Baez’s accusations.

After the break, Kronk reiterates that he believes this was the same bag that he saw in August. Baez goes on to note that the first time Kronk found the bag in a wet, muddy area and the second time was on dry ground. Kronk confirms he saw the bag under a tree almost in the water in August but in December it was in a dry area and looked different, attributing the discrepancy to a change in seasons.

Defense depositions show glimpse into possible strategy

In Session has obtained depositions of three key witnesses in the Casey Anthony murder trial that could shine a light on the defense’s potential strategy.

Depositions of Roy Kronk, Jan Garavaglia and Gary Utz show the defense may try to suggest that key evidence was tampered with and may be inadmissible to the jury.
