Bondsman Reacts To Anthonys’ Interview On ‘Dr. Phil’

People don’t know that she had a gran mal seizure after she came home for the very first time,” Cindy tells Dr. Phil. “She had that second one after she was home after she’d been arrested, when she was out on bail for the first time. America has never heard that explanation before.”

Not so, says Padilla.

“That’s a lie, that’s an absolute lie. During the time she was released into our custody, that never took place,” he told CBS13.

Casey Anthony: ‘I blame her for Caylee not being here,’ George tells ‘Dr. Phil’
snip-
George Anthony bemoaned a smear campaign against him to help win his daughter’s acquittal. “If someone believed I was involved in this, why was I never brought up on charges?” George asked.

He said he had guilt about not doing enough to find out what happened to Caylee. “I lost Caylee three years ago, and I believe I lost Casey at the same time. I believe that. She’s responsible,” George said.

George Anthony blamed Casey for the child’s death. “I blame her for Caylee not being here,” George told McGraw.

He added that be believed that Casey buried Caylee and that someone helped her. “She deceived us, she lied to us,” he said.

Cindy said she believed Caylee drowned in accident, but George said, “I can’t go in that direction.”

Anthonys' Dr. Phil interview is worst case of ratings-grabbing tabloid TV

Wednesday, September 14, 2011

<snip>

Is this the shape of daytime TV in the post-Oprah age?

But the best (or worst?) example came Tuesday in the first installment of McGraw's two-part interview with the Anthonys, Orlando-area parents already excoriated by critics saying they moved too slowly to challenge their daughter's thin lies about Caylee's disappearance.

Cindy Anthony did little to change that analysis, suggesting a host of excuses for her daughter's actions.

McGraw offered an odd spasm of self-righteousness, saying he would never interview Casey Anthony because her actions said enough. More likely, he couldn't afford the hefty price tag Anthony's lawyers want for interviews.

Despite McGraw's efforts to look noble — saying he donated money to a charity the Anthonys have founded instead of paying them directly for an interview — the host is obviously wading in the muck to nab headlines and win viewers.

Casey Anthony: ‘Dr. Phil’ challenges Jackie Kennedy in ratings
posted by halboedeker on September, 14 2011 12:14 PM

If the “Dr. Phil” interview with George and Cindy Anthony had aired in prime time, it would have been the No. 4 show in the Orlando market Tuesday. The chat with Casey Anthony’s parents drew 126,700 viewers. (It aired at 3 p.m. on WOFL-Channel 35.)

ABC’s Diane Sawyer special on Jackie Kennedy’s secret tapes drew127,000 viewers.

But the market’s most popular show was “America’s Got Talent,” which pulled in 231,100 viewers. CBS’ “NCIS” was second with 150,400.

How did the “Dr. Phil” show do nationally?

The show said its ratings were up 100 percent from its time-period average a year ago. “Dr. Phil” was No. 1 at 3 p.m. in New York and Los Angeles. The “Dr. Phil” show said its ratings were 70 percent higher than those for “Live! With Regis and Kelly,” 84 percent higher than those for “Dr. Oz” and 100 percent higher than those for “Ellen.”

Casey Anthony: Is Jose Baez the best go-to legal person? Did Cindy send Casey a love letter?
snip-
Sunny Hostin of “In Session” raved about Baez this afternoon on CNN. ”At this point and time, Jose Baez is really the new Johnnie Cochran,” Hostin said. “If you’re guilty and you want to go home, you hire Jose Baez. If you’re in trouble, you want the best go-to person in the criminal-justice system. Right now, that person is Jose Baez.”

Legal analyst Diana Tennis said that Cindy was sending a love letter to Casey through the TV interview. Tennis said Cindy was saying: ”I don’t know where you are. Your lawyers have kept us apart, but I am ready to forgive. I’m over it, let’s move on.’ ”

Tennis said the interview was “clearly Cindy asking her daughter to come back to her.”

Parents: Casey Anthony knew where child was buried
September 14, 2011 7:42 PM

<snip>

Cindy Anthony said she believes that Caylee Anthony drowned, while her husband George Anthony was adamant that the toddler died by other means and that his daughter Casey Anthony had more intricate knowledge about how it happened.

George Anthony said he thinks Casey may have accidently drugged his granddaughter and she tried to cover it up. Cindy Anthony said she does think Casey did know where her toddler was buried and may have had help placing her body there.

"If Casey is watching this someday — Yes, I think she's responsible for Caylee not being here," George Anthony said.

Cindy Anthony said that while she believes her granddaughter drowned, she didn't believe defense attorney Jose Baez's assertion that George Anthony was there or helped cover up the death. She, too, said she thinks Casey knew where Caylee was buried and that is what upsets her most today.

"When that verdict came in and Casey was found not guilty, I got my answer," Cindy Anthony said "...I'm not gonna be her judge and jury. God is her judge and he set her free."

Cindy Adams - Crime Examiner - September 15, 2011
“Of all the lawyers in the world, they got Casey Anthony's?” Richard Forester pondered during an interview with RadarOnline.com. “They could have gotten anyone. There are thousands of lawyers out there better than him.”

He called the hiring of Baez “a publicity stunt” to bring more attention to the attorney who in July 2011, succeeded in getting Casey acquitted of the murder of her toddler daughter, Caylee Anthony, 2.

Why Do People Hate Casey Anthony so Much?

Why is Anthony so hated that readers latch on to any bit of news about her? Reading this, you may be screaming at your computer, "because she killed her daughter!" I admit to clicking on any story about Anthony, hoping justice may yet be served. Other parents have committed similar atrocities, however, without incurring so much animosity. Let's compare the Anthony trial to other cases and see how it became the cause celebre of the century.

Yazoo City, Miss. - On Friday, a male oriented Website made Casey Anthony a public offer that may rival some she's currently been fielding – lunch, a t-shirt, a previously viewed blu-ray and $100 cash for “tasteful swimsuit shots.”
Although TMR can't afford the $100,000 she needs to pay back the State of Florida, it has “$100 cash left over” from a “tailgate party” to give the mother acquitted of killing her toddler daughter, Caylee Anthony, 2.

SOUTH KINGSTOWN, R.I. - A mother strangled her 8-year-old daughter in 2009 after the girl refused to take a bath, prosecutors said yesterday on the opening day of the woman’s second-degree murder trial.
Judge William Carnes Jr. has banned video and audio recording equipment from the courtroom out of concern that Fry’s case may draw comparisons to the trial of Casey Anthony. The Florida woman was acquitted in July of murdering her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

I heard from many readers who rejected the view of Bill Shine, Fox News executive vice president of programming. He offered a theory to me about why the Anthony saga gripped America: “It was a story, in terms of Americans and people who work in news, that surprised everybody. The reason I think it became what it was is because ‘Oprah’ is off the air. People across the country, especially many women, were searching for a story in that time period.”

Many readers say it was a story about justice, families and responsibility — or the lack thereof — and a far bigger deal than “Oprah.”
