COLCHESTER, Vt. -- Another member of the Vermont National Guard has been killed in Iraq.

The National Guard said that details would be released later Thursday at Camp Johnson by Martha Rainville, the adjutant general of the guard.

The soldier was identified as Sgt. Joshua Allen Johnson, 24, from Richford, where he lived with his grandparents. He was born in St. Albans.

Johnson was deployed in January 2005 with Task Force Saber. He was due home on leave next month and was to return for good during the summer. Johnson formerly was a member of the active duty Army where he served from 2001 to 2003 before joining the Vermont Guard.
