Definitely! What would be more likely if he were innocent is that his phone never pinged in the area until the day the murders were discovered and in the days after. I think college age kids would be more likely to be driving by after a crime was announced to be looking or trying to see what the police were doing.. THAT would be normal, but no not Mr. Kohberger the criminal justice super star.. he didn't want to go by there at all to "help" the police with all his "expertise". Seems his behavior is exactly that of someone that is guilty and wanting to steer clear of the police activity.. well except when he went back by that morning BEFORE anyone knew anything.. maybe to see why nobody had discovered his handy work yet??
or to look for the knife sheath, a big oopsie!

No "Connection" Btwn BK & Victims?

Reminds me of two other quotes.
---President Clinton.
"Contending his statement that "there's nothing going on between us" had been truthful because he had no ongoing relationship with Lewinsky at the time he was questioned, Clinton said, "It depends on what the meaning of the word 'is' is. If the—if he—if 'is' means is and never has been, that is not—that is one thing.
Impeachment of Bill Clinton - Wikipedia

---Character in Lewis Carroll's "Through the Looking Glass."
"When I use a word,' Humpty Dumpty said in rather a scornful tone, 'it means just what I choose it to mean — neither more nor less."

Not saying AT has submitted false info in any court filed doc's.

Just want to say that there are several methods of cleaning that would not be easily detectable. People do clean their cars. I was surprised to learn that luminol can be purchased on amazon for under $30.

That would be a handy addition to a cleaner's kit. With further cleaning (using regular car cleaners), it would be hard to detect (although maybe). Those enzymatic cleaners people buy to remove pet stains and odors would do for that.

IMO.
Out of curiosity-would previous luminol application show up in any way when processing the car? I wonder where else it can be purchased. I imagine that BK did not use his Amazon account for anything related to this crime, including the Ka Bar. I guess we will find out at trial. I share an Amazon account with my family and it’s a pain when I am trying to buy something as a surprise for them. But I love the fact that our entire purchasing history is in there. Makes re-ordering a snap.

No "Connection" ???

I've forgotten the specific motion and context in which def atty said no connection btwn def't & victims.
Anyone have a link handy?
And (for bonus points ;) ) page # stating no connection?

Each is entitled to their own opinion, of course. That’s how WS works.

So he’s a criminal mastermind when it came to protecting his car? How do you square that with his phone use that night, if guilty, in light of his criminal genius status? Not trying to be disrespectful, just wondering how you would explain that disparity?
People aren’t a monolith of skills and behavior. I happen to be a pretty good tennis player. I am not good at building a fence.

This is the part that interests me. If "connection" means phone calls and texts, that's one thing. If it means parasocial connection, that's quite different. Does it include stalking and spying? I mean, I wouldn't regard myself "connected" to a person who parked near my house and stared through my windows. What does AT mean by "connection"?

"Connection" is a two-way word, to me (meaning two things have come together and left a visible sign of having come together). What if it's all one-way?

Just some questions that plague me. What if the connection is mostly symbolic (one of the victims resembled a type or a person that evoked interest from the killer?) I'd say that's a connection, but one that the killer would have to reveal to the world. But the real questions are whether on those other trips to the area of 1122, he watched or spied.

IMO
Excellent analysis.

Another word for connection is intersection.

IMO there will be at least one. Probably upwards of 13. One party may have been 100% UNaware, as you smartly point out.

This was, after all, his field of interest -- how criminals choose their victims.

In the Heather Elvis case, the prosecution alleged she was held and killed in the Moorers' truck. Yet her dna was found nowhere in the truck. This bothered me. How could that be?

They then showed video (from their own security camera) of the Moorers spending several hours cleaning the truck shortly after her disappearance and throwing the cleaning materials into a burn pit. I was less bothered.

This brought me around to thinking that you can actually clean your car enough to remove all traces of the victim's dna. Especially if you prepare in advance.

Yes i know but i don't consider Google a social media accout.

I have to sign into my Google account just to get to some SM sites. Google can access social media and you can do anonymous SM from Google.

From Kohberger's Google account, investigators, according to the new filings, have also pulled extensive records: emails, including drafts and trash; "hangouts" and "chats" including photos; his Google Drive, including "documents, spreadsheets, presentations and files, and associated metadata."

The warrant also obtained information about his search and browsing history; calendar events and contacts, Google Play purchases, along with his Google Pay transactions; court documents show.

No idea how else it could be purchased, but I assume someone with a master's in criminal justice would have a clue about that.

I think thorough cleaning with one of those detergents that have "oxi" in their name would do it. It's easy enough to google. The one thing he couldn't use, obviously (at least on carpet/upholstery) was regular bleach - but there are other things to remove both luminol and DNA evidence.

I won't be the least bit surprised if he did use his Amazon account for suspicious purposes, just as he forgot the sheath (and got seen on several cameras in the neighborhood that night).

IMO.

If there is no DNA evidence in his car, the consensus here on Websleuths was that there must be sign of cleaning, an effort to getting rid of DNA. There is no such explanation, no proof.
The absence of a shower curtain in his home was speculated about - could have been used as a seat cover, with plastic (trash)bags used on smaller things: the wheel, the pedals, if need be then even on the drivers side floor.
It was also speculated that he stripped off at least some of the clothes he wore prior to entering the car, like at least the shoes and some top layer.

The covering/cleaning would have been done way before and after the crime not during the actual adrenaline-filled attack. While he did f-up in many aspects, he might just have been lucky with this particular one.

His apartment didn't come with a shower curtain, it needs to be requested by the tenants. I think he likely just never requested one. I also take showers but don't have a shower curtain.

Just a question if you were the killer and took every possibly precaution (changing clothes, covering seats etc)before the crime not to transfer DNA onto your car would you do a cleaning after the crime with chemicals that can rid of DNA just to make sure that there's no victims DNA there? I know i would. How did he know that he got lucky as you said and there is no need for him to do a cleaning? He wouldn't know how successful he was with his precaution.
There is no evidence that he did. No explanation for the total lack of DNA evidence.

In the 48 hours episode, she explains that they had not known BK's name until an arrest. Once they learned his name, she knew she had a very small window to investigate herself before any accounts would be deleted or made private. So she quickly quickly found what she could and took screenshots. She said that she also gave them to LE. I don't know if she had BK's name before the public did but I would guess so becaue lots of times LE will notify the family of victims first as a humane courtesy.
I seriously doubt the Goncalves family got any information because that is what they have been complaining about though this whole process. Their lawyer said the Goncalves have received the least communication from police that he has ever seen to the family of a crime victim in his entire career in regards to this case. This was at the hearing in regards to the gag order and who it pertained to in case you want to hear what the Goncalves attorney said for yourself.

Or perhaps BK bought one himself at the local Walmart or Target store? It'd be pretty hard to shower with no curtain without getting water everywhere IMO.

An explanation for the lack of evidence..... he didn't leave any to begin with. He wore protective gear on his person and in his car and/or stripped his clothing (plastic coverall, shoe booties?) from the murder scene directly into a plastic garbage bag. That could be done in 60 seconds easily, especially if practiced.

Where is all this victim DNA supose to come from?

It comes from the victim's blood.

The prosecution could site all kinds of murder cases where there was blood but no blood was found in the killer's vehicles.

If every bloody murder that happened were to transfer blood to the perpetrator's vehicle then murders all over the country would be solved really quickly.

Prosecutors do not have to prove why there is no evidence, they have to prove actual real evidence - the evidence they do have.

Car alone compelling -
Phone alone compelling -
DNA alone compelling -
No alibi compelling -
Witness description compelling -

Without a clear motive – which may never be learned – the prosecution can introduce Kohberger’s previous Reddit postings, in which he specifically asked criminals/murderers questions of what it felt like to commit violent victim crimes ......

1.) How did you (the murderer) avoid capture?
2.) How did you prepare?
3.) Why did you choose that victim?
4.) Why did you choose that victim over others?
5.) How did you approach your victim?

2 Cents

The Goncalves family wrote a statement last week regarding cameras in the courtroom in which they wrote that they don't receive any information from the state.
