Could it be the white "question sheets" they've been using to submit questions to the witnesses?

Hi KCL! Thank you for all your notes! I was wondering if you noticed an jury reactions to Arias' behavior in court yesterday (re: were they glancing over at her?)

Dear Katiecoolady! Your notes were fabulous as usual. It was refreshing to see actual points made by the witness instead of comments about the bad behavior of other witnesses who shall not be named.

When JW was crossing her, I notice that she tried and tried to make her sound just like the "compassionate" specialists the defense had just presented. It didn't work.

She also tried to make the point that Dr. DM was in infant when ALV received her master's degree. She didn't bite by saying that 1980 was the year she was born. Instead, she said she wouldn't have been supervising her.

All the way through her testimony, DM never once strayed to run-on anecdotal stories which had no relationship to the case at hand. She had the facts as she found them and that's all she will speak about.

That, my friends, is the ultimate professional witness.

It would be so interesting to see the difference between the notes the jurors took during the other "expert" testimony and the notes they took yesterday and will take today.

Willmott is also trying to diminish the value of work she did prior to receiving her license to practice psychotherapy. That's not going to work. Students in the field, as with medical doctors, do extensive "real world" work long before they can practice in their field.

I have a nephew who received his PhD two years ago and is in his second year of teaching at a major university. His advisers suggested he spend an extra year working on his thesis to make it more far-ranging. During his years working on his PhD, he was already presenting at national conferences, writing papers for peer-reviewed journals, was a teaching assistant, and taught undergraduate classes. During his summer vacations, he taught at Community Colleges and programs for disadvantaged children. Now, when he's not too busy teaching, he is preparing his thesis for publication. His CV is formidable already.

Pre-graduate and pre-licensing work all during one's education is commendable. That Dr. DeMarte took extra time to widen her experience prior to taking the licensing test was because she wanted to be the best psychologist she could be.

IMHO, the jury gets the difference between this prosecution witness and the defense witnesses. She wiped their weeks of testimony away in less than one day of surgically precise questions from Martinez.

PS: '80's during the 4 minute change of classes. I dash to the bathroom since I'm not supposed to go between classes. Come back out into a hall crowded with teenagers. Luckily for me, the vice-principal came up and rescued me from total humiliation. When I got into class, I was blushing. The students were staring at me. Said I, "If that is the worst thing that happens to me, I am a very fortunate person!"

Pretty sure they were new juror question forms as I saw them placing them in their binders.

In the midst of the spanxing over there I did answer this ;). I saw CEO and Paul R glance at her a couple of times which I think was good. Let them witness the "adolescent" petulance Dr. D was describing.

KCL I think your "spanx" incident is a sign from above. And the message refers to the "spanking" Juan is giving the the defense case :great:

Unleash the "real" experts!!! Dr. DeMarte is making me proud - she is one smart cookie - so polished and professional. I am loving this. I almost feel sorry for JW - she is in waaaaay over her head. Okay I'm over it :floorlaugh:

    Hi WS'ers,
I'm sorry for the OT, but most people know me here and not other threads. I will keep it short, and mods I apologize for OT. I really don't know where else to post this.

My dad is still in ICU on a ventilator. He was admitted last Wednesday morning.

Thursday morning as I was on the way down to the hospital (60 miles from my house) he went into respiratory arrest. Since then the fluid in his lungs has cleared. He has a layer of fluid around his heart. It is much thinner than when he was admitted, so he's improving there as well. He has no brain damage and the tests have come back negative for cancer, bacterial, viral. Test for Valley Fever still pending.

He was removed from the vent Saturday, but by Saturday night he had to be put back on it because he was thrashing and so agitated his heart started to beat irregularly.
Family came in from out of state, but the last one left yesterday.

I posted this because some people are asking and I didn't want to leave you all in the dark.
I appreciate the thoughts and prayers so very much, thank you for that. It makes a difference.

Again, sorry for the OT. I'll update if anything changes.

I won't be here much to read replies, and to keep this from being deleted I ask that
there are no replies to this message. Thanks so much for understanding. *hugs*

Thanks again, you guys are awesome and I miss you!

    Have a great day!

    PaSA
