I'm glad that she's going to be charged, just ready to know what the charges are going to be. I hope she's scared to death and worried sick like her family and friends were. Her attorney seems impressive, much more than she deserves. She's once again fortunate that she has the means, I mean her family has the means, to afford that type of representation. JMO

When asked how Russell was doing, Anthony said she is doing better, but is still dealing with some things.

What a bizarre comment. Completely lacking in concession to a crime or crimes. Completeley lacking in respect for the work done by LE and the deep concern and assistance provided by strangers and community members.

It may be an End Game in the terms of a high-visibility, highly-paid attorney, but this is not a game for the Hoover PD, for the highway patrol, for the FBI, for the Secret Service, for the people she worked with and stole from, for the people dealing with her at the medical facility.

I'm really outraged at this blasse' comment.

I expect the perp and her parents to make public statement and not hide behind this slick jerk.

I really hope that they go back to the highway camera but from a few days earlier. I have a feeling they will see her pulling over on the side of the road and doing a trial run investigation about how to get through the woods to the other side. And if they can pull up security camera footage showing her hiding out in the vacant home, they can prove this was a premeditated hoax which will take on a much different situation than an attention seeking stunt.

I doubt we will ever hear a word from them. JMO - they will let him do the talking and I believe their goal is to get this over with as soon as possible so that they can try to go back to their old life. They really don't appreciate how outraged folks are, they think of us as "internet trolls" because we are in their business. JMO

At some point, society needs to hit these hoaxes hard. Because they keep happening, and everyone just sort of let's the issue die down. And moves on. They justify it, that no one was hurt.

What if the police had arrested a white man with red hair? Who happened to be in the area...would a "sorry" have worked? No.

Time to end these hoax crimes. They are not victimless.

I don't mind if LE drags this out for months and months and months.

After all, it took 4 years for the lying and devious Sherry Papini to get charged.

LE has time on their side. Time to let the Russell's burn up having to keep up with Emory's fees, and keep putting money away to pay restitution or LE costs. Time for the mother's real estate client list to thin out. Time for the dad's visibility at his bank to decrease.

All the while having to deal with the pampered little princess they created and her demands for cars, phones, clothes, the life she had.

Saying SINGLE two times does not make it true.

CR made a whole LOTTA mistakes.
Like, online searches, 2(?) days prior tend to show premeditation for making a false report to LE, which is a crime.
Plus robe, other things, if stolen from Woodhouse Spa (Thur night?). Crim theft.
IF CR broke & entered a house (like Goldilocks & the Three Bears?), a crime.
Then continuing w various actions.
Amounting to MULTIPLE CRIMES, imo.

Does CR have the constitutional right to issue this stmt thru atty and NOT admit to any crimes?
Absolutely, positively yes.
Did the stmt (purportedly from CR, lol) DENY any CRIME(s)?
NOPE. (Well, she has not yet been charged, so why deny?)

"There was no kidnapping on Thursday, July 13, 2023. My client did not see a baby on the side of the road. My client did not leave the Hoover area when she was identified as a missing person. My client did not have any help in this incident — this was a single act done by herself. My client was not with anyone or any hotel with anyone from the time she was missing. My client apologizes for her actions to this community, the volunteers who were searching for her, to the Hoover Police Department and other agencies as well and to her friends and family. We ask for your prayers for Carlee as she addresses her issues and attempts to move forward, understanding that she made a mistake in this matter."

The end game is all of this ending, punishment being meted out. This all does need to end, we can't keep dragging it on and on so yes, we need to get to the end game of all of this. There's no child in crisis, she isn't kidnapped, so it needs to be dealt with and over with. What he said was appropriate
