My opinion only, I listened to the 911 call (horrible audio) I heard one of the officers stated that Vicky was exhibiting agonal breathing.
In 1985, my Loving grandfather was lying in his bed at the home of my Aunt (my Grandfather's daughter) and I heard his strange breathing. I alerted my Aunt and my Aunt called the hospice caregiver. The caregiver arrived within a few minutes. I had to leave to return to work.

Less than an hour after returning to work I was called on the intercom to go to the front office. I was told that my aunt was coming to pick me up because my Grandfather passed away. I was told to sit there and wait for my Aunt to come and pick me up, I felt like I was going to pass out.

During the car ride with my Aunt, she explained to me that the caregiver told her that the breathing was agonal breathing explaining that he was not really breathing and did not have much longer to live. Something about his brain not getting enough oxygen. I have never forgotten that word since. I hope to never hear that word again pertaining to my Loved ones. I most likely would pass out right there.

So when I heard a responder state that Vicky was having agonal breathing, I knew that she was already "dead". (again, my opinion only)

After watching the video, I feel like you can hear CW saying something like "please help my wife is she ok? " and he sounds fairly distressed.

I almost feel like she had her finger on/close to the trigger and it went off when they were rammed.

The second video is when they were arresting CW after the crash. It is interesting that he keeps looking back, he can't stop, and wish we could hear what he was saying. I think he is looking back for Vicky.

The third video is of the attempt to extricate Vicky after she had shot herself. Because she still has the gun in her hand and is breathing, as others have just posted, it takes them a fair amount of time to get the gun from her hand and extricate her, for their own safety. It will be a hard video for her family to watch, but they scrambled the images that would be difficult to see. It is very solemn, when you consider that it is close to the end of her life, sad and solemn.

I noticed that he kept looking back as well. He did seem concerned, and I heard him say something like, “check on my wife”.

You are correct, agonal breathing is not actual breathing and oxygen is not getting to the brain. It’s more of a reflex when the brain is not getting oxygen and the person is near death.

Me neither. I would have put a lot of money on him offing himself if cornered, but I definitely didn't see that from her.

He also seemed to show concern for her after she shot herself, which I also didn't expect. I thought for sure he was completely using here, but I guess there were actually some feelings there.

IMO we can start with stricter enforcement of laws with COs and LEOs handling inmates, multiple COs escorting an inmate at a time, putting more measures in place to prevent CO/inmate relationships, ensuring higher-ups are aware of what is going on in the jails. I know that's easier said than done, but IMO it would have prevented this.

Wow even this shortened version is pretty intense. What gets me is that VW said to the dispatcher the "airbags are going to kills us." She also said "lets go to the hotel." I realize she is in panic mode so her automatic reaction was to go to the safety of the hotel. I believe after her statement about the hotel is when the gun she had came into play. She realized that it was a lose/lose situation so she put the gun to her head. I heard audio where CW was saying she has her finger on the trigger to the dispatcher. They had just escaped from the hotel a few mins. prior so in her panic she wanted to go back to safety. But her last action of pulling the trigger is where her panic ended and it was the stark reality of the situation. Yes I feel sorry for her hopelesness, I can't say I don't, I'd be be lying if I said I didn't. That is a very disturbing call, listening to her last moments. Very sad.

I'm sorry I must have missed any concern from CW. All he said was "she has her finger on the trigger." How does that show concern for her? If he had concern he would try and swat the gun from her but he didn't want to get hurt in the process he knew better than to get involved with such a dangerous step. He wanted the chase to stop. I heard him say I'm going to turn. So he was directing LE to avoid being shot at.

I read that she broke protocol when she escorted him by herself, as two COs were required to escort an inmate. But I don’t have the link at this moment so I will add MOO.

Agreed. There was very little chance in my mind that this wouldn't end in a motel room standoff, or a high speed shootout. These two also had more weapons than we knew.

This was probably the best possible ending given the circumstances.

The best possible ending would have been if VW did not shoot herself. But that was her choice. JMHO.

Hi there Wary! Nice to see you. Well, last I knew, the Director's name is in one of the articles from the beginning.
That was due to the Booking Officer calling her to alert that Vicky did not return, he was not there when the other 2 transports arrived from court and it was headcount I believe.
I tried to find it for you but for some reason I cannot find it of course I am multi-tasking while attempting the search lol.

Only thing I could hear about finger on the trigger was from the responders stating that her finger was on the trigger. That was a female 911 operator that said that Vicky told her that her finger was on the trigger, but the 911 operator that was on the line with Vicky's phone was clearly a male.

It appears that we get more inaccurate info during briefings and media reports more than actual facts.

It must have been powerful medicine for Casey that a highly respected assistant director of corrections found him extremely worthwhile as a person--I think the recent pictures of him after being arrested show a man silently grieving for a love lost--maybe for the first time.

I would agree. Vicky White may have been the first person in his life who showed him true compassion and was honest with him. It's sad.

Coroner says autopsy on Vicky White is complete and the manner of death has been ruled a suicide. She died of a single self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head, the coroner says.

However, in Ashleigh Banfield's interview with Sheriff Wedding (YT posted up thread), she repeated the same (i.e., finger on the and threat by VW to pull the trigger) before playing the 911 recording for Wedding for his comment, but no such words by VW are audible.

Ok, so I have a quick question about the 911 call.

Certainly only a few SECONDS of anything in that audio.

I heard Vickey calling out to Casey and did not hear Casey's voice. Then after that, she said the air bags went off and Then the motel room. Again there, I did not hear a peep out of Casey.
Geez then I was thinking many here stated that Vicky did not sound suicidal and I concur.

That got me to think....was Casey playing possum and Vicky thought he succumbed in the accident and it was then she pulled the trigger (allegedly) like a Romeo and Juliet type of thing?

I truly would not be offended if you or anyone laughs out loud about that thought. I have a great sense of humor. LOL
