Has it been stated anywhere how far that creek is from where they last saw her? Why do these little ones seem to somehow gravitate toward water? I keep hoping to see some good news like we did with the little boy in Floyd County KY last year who spent the night in the wild and survived.

The rhythmic flow of it fascinates them, especially autistic children.

Water safety is especially critical for children and adults with autism, as many individuals on the spectrum are drawn to water, some of whom are unable to understand the dangers associated with it. Tragically, the leading cause of death among people with autism that wandering is drowning. (Source)

The embankment to the creek appears heavily wooded and steep. Vadie and the dog could have been running, or even walking quickly, not able to stop soon enough to prevent them from tumbling down the embankment.

To be perfectly honest, this is NOT the time to be "social distancing" when searching for this little tyke. Slap on a bandana, some kitchen gloves and yank away that underbrush. Let's hope that underbrush is thick enough to catch them prior to rolling into the water. It doesn't have to be deep water or quick moving water, to drown an injured child.

I do have a nagging concern that the dog has not returned. If the dog collar was snagged on something and the collar has a pop-apart catch, it should come off. I am hoping the searchers have been given a detailed description of that collar - the color, the type: nylon, chain link, spike, color, training collar, etc.

Oh no. What a terrible time for this little Evelyn to be missing. Prayers for her to be found safely and for the safety and health for everyone who is looking for her.

Oh, wow, that's a lot bigger than I imagined. She was last seen near the bridge before disappearing. Her family must be sick with worry.

    I hope she's found soon.

I hope that she is found soon, not just because we need good news, but because once in awhile a real miracle happens. We have seen young children be okay with animals like dogs, natural protectors. I had a male rescue dog I swear that watched my first baby better than me. Total guardian, laid by the crib. God I hope that is the case here.

This is great news. I hope they find her soon. One more night out there alone could be very dangerous.

Good question. Is CNAW a local news station there? Anyway, I hope it's true. We should hear soon if they really found something.

I'm just not sure THIS is a reliable or official news source, which is where it is currently being reported from. I pray it is true, but I also know people will lie for whatever benefit even when it comes to missing children.
