Details of Disappearance
Thill was last seen in Seward, Alaska on July 5, 1975. A friend gave her a ride into town and dropped her off at the bakery. Another friend saw her at the waterfall on Lowell Point Road between 1:30 and 2:00 p.m. She has never been heard from again.

Investigators believe the serial killer Robert Hansen may have been involved in Thill's case, as well as in the disappearances of Megan Emerick, Roxane Easland and Andrea Altiery. In 1984, he confessed to 17 murders and 30 rapes over the previous twelve years. He led authorities to the grave sites, but only twelve bodies were recovered.

A map in Hansen's home had marks on it matching the locations of his victims' bodies, but there were more than 17 marks on it, suggesting he had more victims then he admitted to. Most of the women he is known to have killed were prostitutes or exotic dancers.

Hansen admitted he was in Seward the day Thill disappeared, but denied any involvement in her case. Nevertheless, police believe she was one of his victims. He died in 2014, while serving 461 years to life in prison for his crimes. A photo of him is posted with this case summary.

It's uncharacteristic of Thill to leave without warning. Her husband was working at Alaska's North Slope at the time of her disappearance. Foul play is suspected in her case, which remains unsolved.

1688988592520.jpgOn July 5, 1975 Mary Kathleen Thill, aged 22, disappeared from Seward, Alaska. Her husband was away working on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline and she lived on Lower Point Road. She was driven into town by a friend, who then dropped her off at a local bakery. Between 1:30 and 2:00 pm, a different acquaintance saw her by a waterfall on Lowell Point Road. She has not been seen or heard from since. Hansen acknowledged being in Seward on the day Thill vanished but denied killing her. An "x" on his aviation chart in the vicinity of Resurrection Bay raised suspicions about him. Hansen admitted to killing her and discarding her body in Resurrection Bay, according to a former prisoner.
The remains of Eklutna Annie were discovered buried next to a power line in a wooded area, one mile south of South Eklutna Lake Road in Eklutna, Anchorage, Alaska on July 21, 1980. Hansen admitted to stabbing her in the back after she made an effort to flee from his car. She was either a topless dancer or a prostitute, according to Hansen, who also claimed that that she was his first murder victim. Despite his claim that Eklutna Annie might have come from Kodiak, Alaska, troopers think she might have arrived in Alaska via California. Her body had already been largely consumed by wildlife when it was found in a shallow grave near Eklutna Lake Road.

I know Eklutna Annie is believed to have died between November 1979 and June 1980, but as she is the only victim that remains unidentified, I think they should check if Mary is in fact Eklutna Annie.
As far as I know, these women have been ruled out:
