Not sure if two are in custody or just one, Local stations state that a woman has been arrested.

Local stations are stating 3 dead. Not sure if the number of 10 injured correct or not. Local stations stating that the hospital has said they are expecting 10- story still developing.

The woman taken in custody is a faculty member. Local stations may be ahead of themselves on number injured. I hope so.

Authorities said a female faculty member during a Biology faculty meeting learned she would not receive tenure. She then pulled out a gun and started shooting.

Tenure in this case refers to a senior academic's contractual right not to have their position terminated without just cause.

The campus was immediately put on lock-down.

UA-Huntsville spokesman Ray Garner confirmed three people were shot and killed.

    Three others were wounded.

Authorities said the shooter is a female member of the UAH staff.

All three of the dead are also staff members.

The [Huntsville Times] identified the professor as Amy Bishop, a Harvard-educated neuroscientist. According to a 2006 profile in the newspaper, Dr. Bishop invented a portable cell growth incubator with her husband, Jim Anderson. Police officials said that Mr. Anderson was being detained, but they did not call him a suspect.
