Police in Tuscaloosa are searching for a missing woman who may have gotten lost on her way home from Northport Thursday.

In a Friday afternoon social media post, a spokesperson for the Tuscaloosa Police Department said 49-year-old Wanda Gordon was last seen in Northport at 2 p.m. Thursday and she planned to drive back to her home in Tuscaloosa.

She has not been seen since, and police fear she has become disoriented and lost.

Gordon was driving a silver 2011 Chrysler 200 with an Alabama tag and some visible damage to its front driver's side and several stickers on the rear window.

She was wearing a white shirt and gold, stripes bottoms and see in the surveillance photo TPD shared in their post.

Gordon, who may be in or near Walker County, is described as five feet, two inches tall and 150 pounds.

Anyone who sees her or her vehicle is urged to call TPD at 205-349-2121 immediately.

I'm curious as to the reason(s) LE think Wanda "has become disoriented and lost". Does Wanda have a history of getting lost while driving? Did she speak to someone whom she told she was unsure about her route or are they just thinking she's lost b/c she never arrived home? I first thought maybe she's visiting the area, which could explain her being unfamiliar with the drive, but she lives in Tuscaloosa. Did she recently move to the area? Has she ever driven to Northport before? Perhaps LE and Wanda's family have reason to believe she's lost, but I'm more concerned about her having had an accident that is yet to be discovered. There's also the possibility that she could be a victim of a car jacking or jugging, especially if her trip to Northport involved getting cash at a bank, ATM, or any other place where she'd receive money (e.g., friend's home, casino, pawn shop, etc.). MOO

I hope Wanda is safe and returns home soon.

So her car still hasn’t been found? Are there any bodies of water or dense forest between the locations she was traveling between? I know it’s apparently not a far drive at all, which is why this is so perplexing…

Her daughter’s social media makes it clear she doesn’t think this is a voluntary disappearance I feel so badly for her and her entire family

The Vehicle was located on 12/21 in Walker Co in a heavily wooded area near where her cell phone last pinged. Inside of the vehicle her purse and cell phone were found.

Police searched area. Wanda is still missing as of 12/29.

Agreed, the wording of the report tells me that she has a history of forgetting things or some medical condition. I'm wondering if she forgot where she was and asked someone for directions? I haven't seen any indication that she's been found so as of 1/7/2023 she is still missing. I fear the worst has happened.
