There are still many questions and virtually no answers about what happened to a West Alabama businessman who's been missing for almost two weeks.
"Anybody who's heard from him please just let us know," says William (Robert) Scott's cousin, Carolyn Shields. She, and the 61-year-old's other loved ones are making this plea to the public. Around mid-day on the day after Christmas is when Robert was seen at home in Geiger.
"It's strange because that's something that Robert has never done," says his brother-in-law, Michael Cunningham.
"This is not like Robert," says Shields."He always comes here."
Robert Scott was seen leaving his house. At the time he was driving two relatives back to Tuscaloosa. Scott's relatives made it home. According to investigators, the last time that he was seen was on that day after Christmas in a Lowes store in Tuscaloosa.
"We've put his information into the national database," says Sumter County Sheriff Brian Harris. "So, if any law enforcement officer runs across the vehicle they'll know that it is Mr. Scott's vehicle and that he's missing. We've also put his information into the tag readers that law enforcement use. So, if that vehicle passes by any of the tag readers it will show up that's we're looking for that vehicle."
For about 15 years Scott has operated Anthony's Lounge in Geiger. Sheriff Brian Harris says on the day that Scott went missing he was driving his 2002 maroon Chevy Tahoe.
"It is very concerning to me that an upstanding citizen like Mr. Scott, a business owner, hasn't turned up," says Harris.
"Actually, we need some kind of closure," says Cunningham."It would make us feel a lot better."
"Robert, wherever you're at we'd love for you to just come home and be with the family because we're really worried about you," says Shields.
William Scott goes by the name, Robert. He's 61, 5"8" and has brown eyes. Scott was last seen wearing blue jeans, a black coat and black shoes.
