I think most people pretty much agree on what they think happened, other than some of the details. This is a place to bring up other options. I would hope that any disagreements about different parts of the ideas would be discussed in a thread about that subject if one exists. Thanks

Okey, dokey.....alternative theories here ya' go:

Perhaps the toddler wasn't his and it really was LH's idea to have a baby in the first place----RH had low T and the infertility issue was taking it's toll on LH so she has an affair just to get preggers and maybe RH resented this very much??? Maybe this really bothered RH?

On that same note, maybe LH wanted the whole marriage thing all along & coaxed RH into it from the beginning?

Maybe RH has started using recreational drugs lately?

Maybe RH's mother will come out with all of the psychopathic moments she remembers about her son throughout the years?

.....remember, all just alternative thoughts and notions.......

rip CH....you deserved so much better.

Something totally different has been going through my head today, and I've finally decide it might have some merit so I should share it.

I've been wondering if they were trying to find ways to save money, and decided to see if they could cut daycare costs if they only brought CH in part time instead of full time. If he brought him to work with him and left him in the car, then she picked him up a couple hours later, she could drop him off at daycare on days she had appointments or take him home on days she didn't. If he left him there at 9:30 that day, maybe she was supposed to pick him up by 11:00 just to see how he'd handle a short period of time out there alone.

She may have gotten busier than expected and forgot, or maybe they got the days mixed up and she thought they were going to try on a different day. If she was with clients, it would make sense to turn her phone off, and she may not have gotten the message about picking him up until just before they talked at 4:04. He may have really bought the light bulbs innocently and been shocked to see CH in there dead. Their odd behavior that day and in court could be that they were in shock, feeling guilty and had no idea how to handle it.

I just have a hard time seeing such seemingly loving parents change so suddenly and killing the child they had loved in cold blood. It would still make him guilty, but because he left him there on purpose even if he hadn't meant to kill him. Hope I made this clear enough, I haven't figured out all of the details yet.

As a parent with a child in a daycare/preschool center, what comes to mind is the cost -- it's cost-prohibitive to "save the spot" for your child and only send them part-time... for us, it was a $20/week savings to go from full-time to part-time... roughly $80/mo was not worth it.

I know all centers operate differently, but fwiw, ours is just one branch of a national conglomerate.

But great minds think alike! Several posters have explored the possibility that they used the car as a "babysitter." It's still possible, but what money & how much it would have saved is totally up in the air, IMO.

Okay....some more "alternative" theories:

Maybe little CH was beginning to show signs of autism or asperger's and the parents couldn't handle anything less than what they deemed "perfection" in their minds----all of course due to bizarre egos, psychopathy, weird psychosocial constraints, or from a cost analysis perspective? Remember, these parents are weird so anything is possible. It's almost as if they could justify something like this---> get rid of our imperfect son & it doesn't matter 'cause we'll have another one.....LH even said things to that effect at the funeral (RH has been and will be a good father down the road, etc etc).

Also, I truly believe that RH thinks he is very handsome and desireable which is another super oddity.

all moo.....

Especially because JRH possibly has signs of ADHD or ASD. He is unfocused, self-centered and immature. And current research supports ASD and ADHD being hereditary. So if [modsnip] JRH thought his son was like him, he might have decided to rid himself of the "problem". Which is very porcine behavior. He is vomit-inducing.

I'm not sure if this is a alternate theory but here it goes: :D I just simply think JRH realized that Cooper was going to be a "kill joy" on to his social life; I don't think he realized how hard it was going to be

It's sad isn't it :( Like his life would be so much better without his son.. geeeez, now look where it got him, prison hopefully!
I think he got tunnel vision for a teenager that was probably playing him.
moo

HEY! Your attention please! This is not the mental health thread. This thread is for discussing alternative theories of what happened.

If you don't have an alternative theory - then move along.

Please stay on topic here.

Thanks,

I'm not sure what my opinion is on this, but I had stated in thread 13 that RH reminds me of Mark Hacking. He made himself sound important - had an MBA, did "police" work, works for a fortune "50" company, is getting a raise and a promotion, is looking to buy a 4 br house, etc.

Since he recently took over the finances, I'm guessing he had something to hide from LH. Was he charging on *advertiser censored* sites, or using an escort service, or buying gifts for his "girls"? There must be a reason he felt the need to take over the financial decisions.

He is starting to see that he has a wife and a son who are holding him back from the life he wants. The young girls seem way more fun than family life. He thinks he's come up with a fool-proof way to get rid of his son, be the injured party, and actually make money. He knew the funeral would be paid for by HD. No more child care costs, and let's face it, kids are not cheap! He then can pocket the life insurance and move towards the life he wanted.

Here's where I get confused, because I think LH was involved. But I really do think RH planned on getting rid of LH also. I'm sure it would have been a "suicide" since "she missed CH so much and didn't want to live without him" - and everyone would have felt horrible for RH because of the tragedy that had struck him. Again, he collects life insurance - people help him out because he is grieving so terribly......

He has his college boy life that he has been craving - at least until he self destructs.

Okay - that's my theory with lots of holes that need to be filled. Lol

There is no part time at Little Aprons, except for school age children. The fee is monthly, and paid in advance.

Apologies Salem... Thought that the mental health thing was an alternate theory to RH 's behavior, the why part of it. Apologies for going off track :-(. Thanks for moderating the threads back on track. It's noticeable and appreciated!

Children are a huge money pit...especially for RH. His wife is giving him grief about his spending...RH could free up $1000 dollars a month by getting rid of Cooper easily to spend on himself and all of his admirers. He cared more about sending penis pics to virtual strangers & hooking up with jail bait...

IMO

So sad but I think it may have been that simple (and awful) as to why RH did this. Moo.

Now, my optional theory is very similar to the first, except LH is aware of everything including RHs sex habits. So she plans it all - then she stages a suicide - he kills himself because his son died in his care and he can't live with it. And she has a new life free and clear.

No - I don't really think it was like that, but it has been running thru my mind. The thing is I don't see either RH or LH as having the ability to care about anyone else. They are the 2 most emotionless people I've ever seen.

I truly believe LH is in on it.

The ' Did you say too much?" cannot be related to an accident. You cannot say too much about an accident. And then the statement that the only possibility was leaving him in the car, not other suggestions by childcare workers.

So why would she agree to get rid of her child?

I keep thinking about what she said at the funeral about not bring Cooper back even if she could. Did she really convince herself that he would be better off dead? No creepy dad, none of life's evils, just a peaceful eternity in heaven. Maybe RH helped convince her this was true or maybe she convinced him that everyone would be better off. I don't know, that's just what keeps swirling in my head.

Did they have some weird delusional that he was evil or the world was evil and thought killing him would keep him pure? Andrea Yates had these delusions. Religious delusions due to a psychotic break from reality.
