I am sitting in the UK and listening to the Sheriff, I'm awaiting the comments of JA and LDB and I cannot but admire the immense dignity I am seeing in the face of such a devastating verdict.

I have followed this case since being in Florida when the case first hit the news. I have watched every moment of the trial, and I did not see any of the supposed 'shoddy' work from your many specialists, or any 'conspiracy' to convict Casey. I saw professionalism, dedication and devotion to justice. The defense team, Dr G, and Yuri and his team were inspirational. This awful, deeply painful verdict can not take those facts away.

Be proud of these people and proud of your legal system - you are greater than twelve people who sat and watched and made (in my opinion) a huge mistake.

I thank you for your comments, and I agree with you. I think that the detectives, the prosecution, everyone involved with this case - with seeking JUSTICE for Caylee, did everything they could do. JA and LDB were rockstars - they moved me to tears, they drove their points home beautifully. I simply cannot believe that those 12 jurors saw something entirely different. This wasn't even a hung jury...it wasn't one holdout...no no...it was TWELVE people, all 12 of them agreed that she was innocent. And it took them less than 12 hours!?!?!?!?! I just don't understand....I never will. And they declined to speak to the media. I understand that's their right, but in my mind I'm thinking gee, I wonder why, because you know your decision was WRONG. UGHHH I am soooo angry. I don't know where to place my anger and blame. The jury, the defense team, ICA?? Excuse me, soon to be non-inmate CA @@ (eye roll). I'm just disgusted.

In contrast, I thought that CM's School-teacher posturing and talking down to the press was completely graceless.

    A sad, sad day :(

Thank you for saying that. I haven't stopped crying yet. How could this have happened?

The good news is that Casey is already convicted in the eyes of God and will rot in hell someday.

In Buddhist teaching, the law of karma, says only this: `for every event that occurs, there will follow another event whose existence was caused by the first, and this second event will be pleasant or unpleasant according as its cause was skillful or unskillful.'

*waves* Also in the UK and feel the same.

I truly feel for you out there as I have no doubt your news media is swamped with this story now - its all just horrendous. Such a miscarriage of justice IMO. I'm 5.000 miles away and I feel sick with it. A wrong has been done today.

Be strong everyone. I am a true believer in Karma and "what goes around comes around". Truly I am.

"The wheels of justice grind slowly but exceedingly fine". Maybe not today, but someday I really do hope and believe there WILL be justice for Caylee.

I'm honestly sick from the people claiming there was no case and justice was served. Casey Anthony proves she is not only smarter than her parents, but the police and court system. It's only common sense she killed her. As a father it makes me ill. Now excuse me why I throw up.

Casey Anthony is a better liar than the prosecutors gave her credit for. She rode it through until the end and won. That jury was smart to not show their faces. When they find out the stuff they weren't able to see they will have a hard time living with their decision.

I'm from the UK too and have followed this case from the very beginning and I have invested so much into little Caylee that this verdict has left me sick to my stomach and I have been in tears since the verdict was released.

I just don't know how these jurors got it so wrong.

I don't understand all the nuances of the US system compared to the UK, but over here hiding a body and not burying a body would have led to 'Perverting the Course of Justice' charges and illegal burial charges. Is there anything else that Casey can be charged with, or is this really the end of the road?

It's gut-wrenching, isn't it? Did you see them cover the story just on SKY?

While the shock and disappointment are clouding many thoughts right now I have to say it isn't a day I'm proud to be an American. This verdict IMO shows that dishonesty and underhandedness are allowed by the defense team in our country while a laugh from the state might cause a mistrial. If our justice system was honestly what it claims to me then high profile cases wouldn't result in justice not being served. I never bought into the claim that ICA couldn't get a fair trial. In America if you are rich, attractive, dishonest, any or all of the above you are much less likely to be held accountable. If ANY one of us were on trial with this evidence against us we would on our way to death row. The jury members should be ashamed after finding ICA had no fault in her child's death.

I haven't watched Sky today, just been watching online.

I'm hoping to wake up tomorrow and its all a horrible dream if I'm honest. I seriously bawled my eyes out.

How can it be ok to throw your child in a swamp, duct tape on the mouth and wrapped in trash bags???

Its on Sky? I've seen a few comments on BBC online and Sky online but nothing on the actual news on the TV. I think I'll give it all a miss as I'm so flabbergasted about the whole thing.

You only have to look at Twitter to see how people are enraged by this - top trending subject worldwide and I think its fair to say most people are very angry about the decision today.

The jurors need to be hanging their heads in shame right about now.

That is so sweet to say, especially on a day that as an American I feel hopeless that there is no true justice left in this country. It's all for sale. :truce:

These jurors should rush home to their families and hide out for a while. What a disgraceful travesty of justice all round! Who on earth do they think killed this little girl? This case is as pathetic and embarrasing as the OJ fiasco. I thought the OJ thing was an exception; obviously it's not. American "justice" runs down the drain. Well, all I have to say is that the Anthony's deserve responsibility for their own and being "free" they will have to deal with her for the rest of their sorry lives.

Thank you, Enola, your post has helped me feel a little better. I am so horrified at this justice system right now. I appreciate someone from another country making this observation. TY!!!!
