On one of the highest hilltops in Elbert County, Georgia stands a huge granite monument. Engraved in eight different languages on the four giant stones that support the common capstone are 10 Guides, or commandments. That monument is alternately referred to as The Georgia Guidestones, or the American Stonehenge. Though relatively unknown to most people, it is an important link to the Occult Hierarchy that dominates the world in which we live.
The origin of that strange monument is shrouded in mystery because no one knows the true identity of the man, or men, who commissioned its construction. All that is known for certain is that in June 1979, a well-dressed, articulate stranger visited the office of the Elberton Granite Finishing Company and announced that he wanted to build an edifice to transmit a message to mankind. He identified himself as R. C. Christian, but it soon became apparent that was not his real name. He said that he represented a group of men who wanted to offer direction to humanity, but to date, almost two decades later, no one knows who R. C. Christian really was, or the names of those he represented. Several things are apparent. The messages engraved on the Georgia Guidestones deal with four major fields: (1) Governance and the establishment of a world government, (2) Population and reproduction control, (3) The environment and man's relationship to nature, and (4) Spirituality.

In the public library in Elberton, I found a book written by the man who called himself R.C. Christian. I discovered that the monument he commissioned had been erected in recognition of Thomas Paine and the occult philosophy he espoused. Indeed, the Georgia Guidestones are used for occult ceremonies and mystic celebrations to this very day. Tragically, only one religious leader in the area had the courage to speak out against the American Stonehenge, and he has recently relocated his ministry.

THE MESSAGE OF THE GEORGIA GUIDESTONES

    1. Maintain humanity under 500,000,000 in perpetual balance with nature.
    2. Guide reproduction wisely - improving fitness and diversity.
    3. Unite humanity with a living new language.
    4. Rule passion - faith - tradition - and all things with tempered reason.
    5. Protect people and nations with fair laws and just courts.
    6. Let all nations rule internally resolving external disputes in a world court.
    7. Avoid petty laws and useless officials.
    8. Balance personal rights with social duties.
    9. Prize truth - beauty - love - seeking harmony with the infinite.
10.Be not a cancer on the earth - Leave room for nature - Leave room for nature.

Do any of our Georgia members know about these stones?

    Have you seen them?

This is alleged to be the New World Order or One World Order post apocolypse...

With all these natural disaster occurances, I wonder if this is the beginning of the end...JMHO

    Time will tell....

wow, I had never heard of the American Stonhenge. I have family in Georgia but they had never told me of it. I too would like to hear from any GA members about this construction and any info they can pass on as to what locals think about it.

I know of GA's "Stonehenge" but have never been there, it's a bit off the beaten trail for me. Thanks for reminding me about another place in Georgia I should explore... great photo ops. I am adding that to the RockEagle trip which should make a nice weekend adventure. We have resolved to see points of interest nearer home & only last year visited the Okeefenokee Swamp... lifetime GA residents & had never been to the actual preserve.

I think GA Tourism & Visitors Bureau doesn't really know how to deal with the Guidestones wierdness. The secrecy surrounding the construction reeks of occult or something sinister here in the buckle of the Bible Belt. Of course, if the government could figure a way to make a buck there, it would be a different story. (I can talk about Georgians because I am one... the rest of you, watch your mouth!)

I grew up in Georgia and in college/grad school dated a guy from Elberton and went there often to visit his family. I have never heard of this... (Elberton is known for their granite in general.)

    Thanks for posting about it!

(Been to Rock Eagle a few times, though...)

I'd stay away, you cannot imagine what sort of spirits are roaming around up there. It would be like a porthole to the supernatural due to the occult ceremonies. MOO!

I went up there a couple of weekends ago. We took our "paranormal" gear and didn't get any kinds of readings or anything on the DVR. It's really interesting though. It's monitored by cameras by the local PD because of all the vandalism that they've had. (There was a couple there making out when we pulled up. Guess they didn't know about the cameras.)

Naw, all you'd have to do is say the Prayer Of Protection and you'd be covered.

This is really interesting. At first I was thinking "Ya mean that Mountain with the Presidents on it?"

O.K. going waaaaaaaaaay out on a limb here. Anyone listen to Howard Stern? For years that crazed guy Ralheigh Martin who is from Georgia has sworn he was abducted by aliens. He's an alcoholic and people laugh at him, but hey ya never know. I love his cacth pharse he uses to make mney:

    "Don't forget your symbols".

this week end on Brad Meltzer's Decoded on the history channel they had a show about the GA stonehedge. it was pretty interesting actually. i like the show as it tries to show both sides of what people say about it. they don't always go for the strange side.

I have lived in Georgia all my life and this is the first I've heard of the Georgia Stonehenge. I will be researching it now, though I believe I'll do my research from a distance. Have to agree with Dark Knight on this, I really don't agree with the symbolism.

Speaking of you and Dark Knight and your concerns, I have never understood why people assume nonphysical beings (ghosts, spirits, demons, etc.) are somehow specially tied to one physical place.

I mean, they are already functioning outside space and time as we humans understand those dimensions. Why would they be especially dangerous at one physical place or another? Why wouldn't they just as easily come after you because of this discussion over your computer?

And while I'm asking, why do they only torment true believers? We atheists, agnostics and believers in non-Christian faiths seem pretty much immune.

While the stones do not honor or even mention God, none of the coverage I have seen on them seems to suggest they espouse any sort of "other" belief or "power" either so I do not see this edifice as spiritual in any way, for good or "evil". I will not be trekkin over to GA any time soon so cannot check it out myself, but were I in the area, I would have no fear of going there nor any concern about it being some otherwordly portal to evil.

It is a contruction of man.

After reading tl's post, perhaps I should explain. I understood comments about the monument being connected to creepy or other-worldly things as said in jest. If my response (post #13) was offensive, I am sorry & I apologize. I did not intend to make light of anyone's beliefs.

It is curious that an individual or group designed & paid big bucks to have this erected in that location. But my interest comes from photography, I have a folder of "roadside south" that is destined to become a coffeetable book, one of a kind, just for me.
