Predatory behavior doesn’t pop out of nowhere. The women who are starting to speak out said they have contacted LE. JMO, but there will be more who are not publicly announcing themselves.

I wasn’t able to find an obit for him …
Well no doubt the obit will not describe how he whisked away a 14 year old girl from her own house near midnight. One that had a protective order against his 67 year self, and that he had been charged previously with raping.

In a way, it's good that his wife didn't have to learn of this latest role.

I wonder how old the girlfriend was, the friend who apparently, probably unwittingly provided the exposure to, with or without phone number, the teen to her own 67 yr old boyfriend.

His wife was spared, but unfortunately not the rest of his family who lives there. I feel for them also. Predators like Fosler leave radiating circles of victims …

S&BBM- A few facts ...

The following is snipped from an obituary for his wife who passed away in June 2023. I'm not linking to preserve the family's privacy. She sounds like a very lovely person.

"Survivors include her husband, Michael George Fosler, her sweetheart of 44 years. They relocated in 1995 from Indiana due to Mike’s military career".

So if Flosler was a police chief/school resource officer in Indiana, he hadn't been in LE for nearly thirty years after moving to Cabot. Interesting that he was also in the military.

Looks like he started a trucking company and obtained his Commercial Class A license in 2/2022. Interesting to see the States he has been in, see link above.
They also had a son who passed away as a baby, 1 year old.

County Sheriff, John Staley, told Channel 7 News, “Aaron Spencer was acting as a father. There's no way that we’re going to put the criminals ahead of our kids. Your kids, my kids, they’re all our children.”

The sheriff says they responded to the initial call regarding Fosler in July.

“Took report of an inappropriate relationship, sexual misconduct. We realized it was Cabot jurisdiction. We forwarded it to Cabot detectives, and Cabot worked that case. He was subsequently arrested back in July and placed in the Lonoke County Detention Center. The initial charges were rape and internet stalking. I believe other charges were added such as child *advertiser censored*,” says Staley.

The Sheriff says the investigation is still ongoing and is in the hands of the prosecutor.

“My investigators have family, they have children. I’m a daddy. In a situation similar to this, I can’t tell you I wouldn’t act the same way. But now we are the fact finders. We don’t file the charges. We supply the information so the prosecutor can make a determination whether it was justified or not.”

Sheriff Staley says his thoughts are with both sides families, saying that the families of predators often do not know what the individual is up to.

Wondering if there’s any updates on this?
I looked and have not been able to find anything in the media. The family obtained an attorney and has quit speaking on social media, which is probably a good thing.

But wow, take a look at the charges which were added in Fosler's case - Case Loading • Arkansas Judiciary
It was closed on 10/24/24, 37 counts of PANDERING OR POSSESSING MEDIUM DEPICT SEXUAL CONDUCT CHILD.

Don't see any charges for Aaron, I feel safe in saying he is not going to be prosecuted.

I understand why they would be reluctant to charge him, and I wondered if they had that option. Seems like the community is behind him, from what I read.

I think I now understand the right application of jury nullification!
I don’t even think it would come to “jury nullification”. They’d just have to agree that there was no “criminal intent” at the time of the shooting. (As opposed, say, to a situation where the father took his daughter home and then returned to shoot the individual.)

Statement from Aaron Spencer's Attornies 11/27/24

"We are not just disappointed - we are outraged by this decision.

Aaron Spencer is a decorated war hero who protected his country and a loving father whose heroic actions protected his family. He is certainly not a criminal. He did what any father would do - and any trained combat veteran would do - to protect his child from a predator. This predator repeatedly violated his child, and - undeterred by criminal charges and release on a low bond that pales in comparison to what was required of Aaron - kidnapped her in the dark of night to continue his assaults on her. The systemic failures for decades that permitted this man to continue his abuses of women and children for years culminated in his facing a father who finally stopped him. No matter what the prosecuting attorney may do to Aaron, he was able to save his child and prevent this man's continued acts of sexual violence against the most vulnerable among us - nothing could be more important than that.

While the prosecutor has made clear his intent to send Aaron to prison - even targeting his use of a legally owned firearm and in spite of his past experiences in combat - in this country, it is not the prosecutor who ultimately decides justice, it is the citizens. We believe the citizens of this county and of this state will not allow this injustice, that this community will not allow a father protecting his child from a serial predator to be treated as a criminal.

The repeated traumas Aaron's family has endured over the last six months are unimaginable.

Sadly, the prosecutor's decision perpetuates these horrors instead of protecting legitimate victims and punishing true criminal offenders. Instead of targeting this heroic father, the prosecutor should be working to figure out how the system failed to protect this innocent victim and instead resulted in her father having to do so".

IMO, when this case goes to trial - there isn't a jury in the world who would vote to convict Aaron. I've linked the charges that were filed against Fosler related to Aaron's minor daughter above, take a look.

On the other hand, if Fosler had went to trial, he would no doubt have been convicted - JMO. He was not related to the Spencer family in any way. The connection and opportunity to sexually assault Aaron's daughter, was presented through an unsuspecting mutual family friend.

This could happen to any one of us, the Spencers are a good family who were pursuing justice through the legal system. It was Fosler who wouldn't stay away and continued to contact the minor, despite a restraining order being in place. He was a 67 year-old pedophile who presented himself as a 'retired law enforcement officer' to gain trust.

It's unfortunate Fosler didn't make it to trial, his death was a result of his own choices and actions the night he kidnapped Aaron's daughter - all MOO.

It truly is a sad day when a father cannot protect his child/children from a predator who was allowed to be roaming the streets after already being apprehended and also other victims speaking out in regards to being SA from same man.

THis dad is a hero !!!

It is so sad when the SA offender has more rights over a parent trying to protect their own.
