'I just want my wife back': Desperate words of husband whose real estate agent spouse vanished after showing home to mystery buyer three days ago

A desperate husband has spoken of his despair at the disappearance of his real estate agent wife, who vanished showing a property to an unknown would-be buyer just as locals spotted a stranger pull up in a pick-up truck.

Beverly Carter, 49, disappeared from a foreclosed home in Scott, Arkansas, after going to an appointment with an unknown buyer on Thursday, sparking a huge search effort.

Her husband Carl Carter, who found her car abandoned outside the house, which was left unlocked and open, said 'I'm going to try to be strong as best I can - I just want my wife back'.

His plea came as one neighbor revealed he saw a 'skinny white man' pull up at the house in a pick-up truck around the time of the disappearance.

Arkansas Real Estate Agent Beverly Carter Targeted Because She Was 'Woman That Worked Alone'

The man accused of kidnapping and killing Arkansas real estate agent Beverly Carter said today she was targeted because she was "a woman that worked alone."

Arron Lewis, who remains in police custody, is the sole suspect in the grandmother's murder, law enforcement officials said today. He entered a not guilty plea earlier this morning on charges of capital murder, robbery and kidnapping and is being held on $1 million bail.

The motive for the attack remains under investigation though Pulaski County Sheriff's Office Capt. Simon Haynes said that Lewis "was a stranger to her" who investigators believe saw her as "a target of opportunity." Haynes said that Carter met with Lewis at the empty home because she believed he was a prospective buyer.

Lewis reportedly suggested that he had some kind of accomplice named Trevor, but police spoke to the man in question and have ruled him at as a suspect at this time. "At this particular time we believe Mr Lewis acted alone," Haynes said.

"It's something that we immediately take notice of,” said Sgt. Ken O’Brien, of the West Des Moines Police Department.
