KSFM News http://www.kfsm.com/Global/story.asp?S=7102285 The most recent activity in the case was in 2005, when the F.B.I. accused former Sebastian County prosecutor Ron Fields of dealing drugs and ordering a Fort Fmith police officer to kill Lori Murchison. The case was brought before a grand jury, but fell through for lack of evidence. Fields is currently being investigated by a special prosecutor over allegations he sexually abused a mentally-challenged female. . . . now two of the detectives originally involved, Jeff Barrows and Steve Howard, are on paid leave for an internal investigation. Update Oct. 19, 2007 http://www.kfsm.com/Global/story.asp?S=7227429 Major Jeff Barrows was terminated after the investigation revealed serious violations of the Department's Rules and Regulations. Captain Steve Howard received a 30 day suspension, without pay for violations of the department's rules.
