I woke up this morning after one of the most brutal days I can recall as a WSer, hoping it was all just a nightmare. Alas, it was not to be.
Dear, precious Malik, I am beside myself! I can't reconcile my heart with what my head knows to be true. :no:
When you gained your wings is not yet known. However, I pray with all my heart that you are at peace. May you know only the love and care that SO many feel for you, from all over the world. I wish your twin the strength and grace she will surely need to navigate this life without you by her side.
To those who contributed to your demise, I say this: Justice will not be denied! No matter what it takes, you will be punished. The only mercy you deserve is from God Himself. We will not rest until you pay for the horrific damage that has been done!

But can they arrest you if you fail a lie detector test? I thought they couldn't?
LE DID, however, say that the father was always on their radar, but they just needed evidence to make it stick. Maybe failing a lie detector test isn't enough? they can't be used in court, right?

I haven't been following this case. Were their drugs involved? Any speculation as to why they killed Malik- not that ANY reason is justified. But the abuse of his corpse and their letting the twin live makes me wonder why Malik? Poor little guy 
I know that some parents abuse one kid Avd not the others. Was Malik's life happy to those that knew him prior to his death?

Edit : the media is (rightfully) referring to her as the dad's girlfriend. They were never married, but they were the ones that called her his "stepmother". Regardless, it's the same woman. Just to clear up any confusion.

Evil wastes of oxygen! I cannot believe the girlfriend went along with this "plan." This was a little boy, a human being. I wonder why she and the dad are not together anymore. I hope he hasn't slept since worrying every minute that she would turn him in.

The affidavit states that on Thursday, November 20, 2014, Clifton beat Malik after he wouldn't eat dinner and then drank another child's milk. "Witness 1" [Marcotte] claims Malik did not act or look okay, and the person begged Clifton to take Malik to the hospital, but he was scared to because of the extensive bruising on Malik's body. Witness 1 said Clifton beat Malik and his twin sister on several occasions.

She is charged with hindering apprehension.
Police say Marcotte was booked in at the White County Detention Center Thursday and released on her own recognizance due to medical reasons.

Greg Yarbrough (KARK) has posted on twitter that the girlfriend was released on her own recognizance due to medical reasons. Maybe whatever is wrong with her led to her need to do the right thing. Either that or she thought she would get the $20,000 reward.
