Police say that skeletal remains have been found in a vacant lot in 2200 block of W 30th St. in the southern part of Pine Bluff, Arkansas. Someone was walking nearby and looked through a fence and saw the remains.

... the skeleton was too badly decomposed to be identified.

... the body will be sent to the State Crime Lab for a positive identification.

But while detectives don't know who the bones belong to, Elizabeth Jeffrey believes she does.

"I have a nephew, Billy Hobson, who has been missing since March," Jeffrey said. "I just have a feeling. A gut feeling."

We spoke to Jeffrey at the scene where the remains had been found earlier in the day. She says she came to try and get some closure.
Jeffrey says she first heard about the remains on Facebook, when a photo from the scene started circulating. Police tell us that picture was taken before they arrived and could secure the area.
"The clothes match the clothes he last had on," she said.
Jeffrey says her nephew had tried to commit suicide in the past. He was last seen at a grocery store just two blocks away from where the remains were found Wednesday.

[h=1]Human Remains Found in Pine Bluff Identified[/h]

PINE BLUFF, Ark. - Human skeletal remains found in a field late last month have been identified as those of a local man.

The Pine Bluff Police Department (PBPD) says William Hopson, 39, had last been seen in the area of 28th St. & Camden Rd. on March 15, 2017.
The remains were found on Sept. 27 in the 2200 block of W. 30th Street.

The PBPD says the identification at the State Crime Lab was made by clothing, articles found with the remains, and by comparing surgical implants against the medical records of Mr. Hopson.
