'A woman and two children have been found dead at a house at Hillier, near Gawler, on Adelaide's northern outskirts.

Police were called to the house in Jack Cooper Drive at 1:30pm.

Officers discovered the bodies of a six-year-old girl, five-year-old boy and 29-year-old woman inside the house.

Chief Inspector Alby Quinn said police were met by three men outside the home when they arrived.

"A 30-year-old male has been arrested and he will be charged with murder," he said.

"This matter doesn't involve any other people, and it does at this stage appear to be domestic-related."'

Two children, aged five and six, and their mother have been found dead inside a home north of Adelaide.

Police arrived at the home on Jack Cooper Drive located in Hillier at 1.30pm on Monday.

Authorities discovered the bodies of a little girl and her brother along with their 29-year-old mother Adeline Yvette Rigney Wilson.

It is understood they lived at the rented house with 37-year-old Steven Peet, who was found outside of the home when police arrived.

The man was taken to the Lyell McEwen Hospital where he remains under police guard.

It's understood the arrested man is not the biological father of the children.'

'A MAN will face court on Tuesday charged with the murders of his partner and her two children, who were found dead in their home on the outskirts of northern Adelaide.

Police discovered the bodies of Adeline Yvette Rigney-Wilson, 29, and her two young children inside the remote Hillier farmhouse, near Gawler, at 1.30pm on Monday.

As details emerge about the tragic circumstances of their deaths, Ms Rigney-Wilson’s partner, Steven Graham Peet, 30, remains in police custody.

He is due to be charged with the murders of Ms Rigney-Wilson and her two children – a boy, 5, and a girl, 6.'

'The Advertiser understands Peet, who was on a disability pension, is not the father of the children.'

'Ms Rigney-Wilson had only been living with Peet at the property for the past six weeks, her sister said.

Her sister described Ms Rigney-Wilson and her children as “beautiful”.

“She was a strong, black woman,” she said.'

'Barossa Local Service Area officer-in-charge Chief Inspector Alby Quinn said the nature of the crime was very traumatic.

Chief-Insp Quinn said the man and the victims were known to each other and that officers were not searching for any other suspects.

“This does appear to be domestic-related and we are not looking for any other further persons in relation to this incident,” he said.'

Neighbours in shock after bodies of Adeline Rigney-Wilson and her children found at Hillier home
Andrew Dowdell
The Advertiser

'THE farmhouse on the outskirts of Gawler is set away from surrounding homes, and neighbours say they had never noticed its occupants.

As dusk settled last night, local residents expressed shock at the deaths of mother Adeline Rigney-Wilson and her son and daughter, aged five and six.'

'The brown brick-and-tile home sits near the middle of a block of about 5ha, which is earmarked to be subdivided for housing.

Surrounded by trees at the end of a 300m driveway, the house would normally attract no sidewards glances, but on Monday night motorists slowed down as a throng of media crews and police vehicles attracted their attention.'

'Police said the alleged murder of the woman and children was the result of a domestic dispute — another black mark in what has become a tragic national toll.'

Oh no no no no!!

Godspeed Adeline and her two precious babies

Adeline was beautiful. I really want to know why this evil nutter murdered 3 innocents and not just himself.

Bohemian, I just read that and am I wrong to assume the deaths of this mum and her two children is considered a black mark, or just another stat?

Whatever those words are supposed to mean, U2F, IMO they are poorly chosen; albeit spoken whilst 'police' were probably traumatised by the crime scene.

First of all, as Adeline was described as a 'strong black woman' by one of her relatives in an MSM article above; her murder should not be spoken of as a 'black mark' almost blotting Australia's copybook (as if women; and particularly, Indigenous women, being seriously or mortally injured as a result of intimate relationship violence are unusual events!)

Secondly, because her and her wee childrens' deaths are seen as another statistic in a 'tragic national toll' so, yes, Adeline and her children are being depersonalised and their tragic murders converted to mere percentages.

Adeline's and her little children's murders (and the murder and subsequent lack of justice for Lynette 'Norma' Daley, among other women) are not just '(an)other black mark(s) in what has become a tragic national toll'. They were living, breathing souls with futures full of potential whose lives were cut all too short by people who were supposed to love, protect and, most of all, respect them.

Also, I have yet to see widespread outrage, and/or marches up and down the country by the masses, in reaction to the murders of Lynette and now Adeline and her children (such as there were in the equally tragic deaths of Luke Battye and Jill Meagher; for example).

A sad and sorry state of affairs. Women's and children's lives matter; regardless of any 'perceived differences' to the 'prevailing majority', 'race', 'religion' or 'culture'.

'THE grieving mother of slain woman Adeline Yvette Rigney-Wilson says she never thought the lives of her beautiful daughter and grandchildren “would end like this”.

On Tuesday morning, Donna Rigney told The Advertiser her heart was torn between grief and fury following the shock discovery of three bodies at Hillier on Monday afternoon.

“Adeline was beautiful, she was so beautiful. The human feeling, the emotion, is I want revenge but I can’t do that,” she said.

“It’s in the good Lord’s hands. They are in the good Lord’s hands. We’ve got God and he will sort this out — and the devil will take care of his own.

“I never thought it would end like this.”

Donna Rigney said she was struggling to come to terms with the shock loss of her daughter, who they knew as Yvette, and grandchildren, Corey, 5, and Amber, 6.

Names and images of the victims have been published with the family’s permission.

Police discovered the bodies of Yvette, 29, and her two young children inside the Hillier farmhouse, near Gawler, about 1.30pm on Monday.

Yvette’s partner, Steven Graham Peet, 30, has been charged with her murder and that of her two children.

He appeared in the Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Tuesday afternoon and did not apply for bail.'

'She said the family had yet to decide how to break the news of their deaths to Yvette’s surviving son, Seanie, 7, who lives with his father, also named Sean.

Sean Snr is the father to Yvette’s three children.'

'A man charged with murdering a mother and her two young children at a property in Adelaide's north will not be required to enter a plea for at least another 12 weeks while forensic reports are prepared.'

'Their alleged killer, Steven Graham Peet, faced the Adelaide Magistrates Court through a video link from prison.

Prosecutor Lisa Dunlop asked the court for a longer-than-usual adjournment to allow time for forensic reports to be completed.

"There is a significant amount of material to come, we have an estimated completion date of the forensics [of] eight weeks from last Friday," she said.

"We are still chasing up other matters including a pathology report."

Peet's lawyer, Andrew English, said it might be "some considerable time" before his client was in a position to answer the charge.

The case was adjourned until November, but Peet may not be required to enter a plea then unless all of the outstanding documentation has been provided in advance.'

BY COURT REPORTER CANDICE PROSSER
UPDATED FRI JAN 27 12:51:03 EST 2017

'A man accused of murdering a mother and her two young children in Adelaide's north may not be mentally fit to instruct his legal team, his lawyer has told the magistrate.

Adeline Yvette Wilson-Rigney, her six-year-old daughter and five-year-old son were found dead inside a Hillier property north of Adelaide in May last year.

Steven Graham Peet, 31, is charged with three counts of murder.

Today he appeared in the dock of the Adelaide Magistrates Court with a shaved head and wearing a blue tracksuit.

Peet had been due to enter pleas to the charges but his lawyer, Tom Cuthbertson, asked for an adjournment, saying Peet might not be mentally competent to instruct his legal team.'

Steven Graham Peet admits to Hillier killing of mum of two but denies murdering her kids

AUGUST 15, 20174:13PM

AN ALLEGED triple murderer has admitted killing a young mother but denied murdering her children. Steven Graham Peet claimed he was an “automaton” who had been subjected to domestic violence.

In the Supreme Court in Adelaide on Tuesday, Peet pleaded guilty to having murdered Adeline Yvette Wilson-Rigney.
He admitted fatally bashing and strangling Ms Wilson-Rigney — known to friends and family as Yvette and who also used the surname Rigney-Wilson — at Hillier, north of Gawler, in 2016.
However, Peet denied murdering her children, Amber, 6, and Korey, 5. The children were found with cable ties around their necks, and had been “hogtied” with sticky tape around their heads and, in the case of Amber, a sock stuffed in her mouth.
The revelations of the manner in which the children died sparked emotional scenes in court, as Ms Wilson-Rigney’s family wept, clung to one another and hurled abuse.
Her mother, Donna, sat with her head in her hands while another spectator yelled “*advertiser censored**ing dog, she was a kid”.

Did another 'automaton' viciously kill the kiddies,
something SP didn't witness????

Kathryn BerminghamAAP / January 17th, 2018

The resumed trial of an Adelaide man charged with the murder of two children will hear of alleged admissions to police and is expected to last about a week, a court has been told.

Steven Graham Peet has pleaded guilty to murdering Adeline Yvette Wilson-Rigney at a property north of Adelaide in 2016, but not guilty to the murder of her two children.

In a directions hearing in the South Australian Supreme Court on Wednesday, defence and prosecution counsel agreed the trial, which is set to resume on January 29, should last about five days, shorter than originally expected.

Witnesses will include police officers who allegedly heard admissions from Peet following the deaths.

Agreed facts are also still being finalised, and a psychiatrist's report is complete but has not yet been provided to the court.

A key issue at the trial will be Peet's mental state at the time of the alleged crimes, after he claimed to have been in a disassociative state when his trial began last August.

His claims prompted prosecutors to ask for a delay to consider how to proceed.

Thanks for all of the updates, everyone x
