What a bizaare case - why did it take so long for someone to report an 11 year old missing? Why isn't this all over the news? I wonder if this is a family abduction?

Sounds like a custody issue and possibly a family related abduction.

It is now June 2nd... This has not received ANY attention or media coverage in Australia and I do not believe any local areas searches have been conducted.

11 years old is way too young to run away, I hope she is with a family member & is safe. The details surrounding the day she went missing and not reporting it to police until 10 days later is very suspicious. I wonder who actually saw her last and where?!

    Poor girl. :(

I thought it strange that it was not reported 'which/what/who Relative'?
Grandparents? Aunt / Uncle? Brother? Sister? Blood relative?
Its almost a month since she was last seen.

I hope Electra is OK - I hope they are both OK -
and I hope that the 'relative' or Electra can let the Police know where she is - asap.

    Another pic of Electra at:

I hope she is ok too. The police must think she is safe (I hope) to not initiate more media attention. I don't like to prejudge, but it seems like there could be some family dysfunction here - why not report her missing on her custody day? Unless the lapse between when she was last seen and the missing person report was because whoever has her contacted her father and extended the care arrangements? Maybe he had made new arrangements for her to be returned on the 21st and they didn't show up?

It seems that the media has picked up Electra's case since another man David Wood (who unfortunately is now deceased) was missing from the same area. The report of David Wood's (pending identification) death was in the media today.

In a way, it highlighted Electra being missing.

it really sounds like a custody issue & family abduction.

police don't often do a lot of publicity in those type cases, unless there is some immediate concern for the childs welfare, and in this case they do have serious concerns so why haven't they created a big song and dance in the media about it?

I hope Electra is found safe and well soon

She’s described as being of Caucasian appearance, 155cm tall, of athletic build, with blonde shoulder-length hair and blue eyes.

Either her missing photo with short hair is an old one, or the missing poster description of her hair length is incorrect. I wonder which it is?

Nice catch Chickadee - I have only seen the one photo for her, and it looks as if she is dressed to play a team sport, so maybe her hair is tied back in the photo.
She has quite a distinguishing smile though.

I hope if she does have longer hair they release a more recent photo of her. I hope they have one.

No new news as i can see at the moment in the media.
Hope she is found soon and is safe.

Most young children in Australia must be enrolled in a school. I wonder what her primary school has to say on this? Surely they can shed clues on the custody battle. IMO

I live in Tweed & am surprised that i hadn't heard this. There doesn't appear to be anything in the Gold Coast bulletin about it. There is a comment from a relative suggesting that they reported her missing on May 13th per a police report on the facebook link for the Aus Police posted above. I shall have to see if any of my local friends have heard about this.

Maybe from the 13th to a few days prior to the 21st , this family member who allegedly had her was keeping dad pacified somehow. " Oh can she stay another 2 days? We were going to visit her cousins in the morning and she really wanted to see them too'' . So maybe dad agreed to a day or two and after several days really demanded her back. Wonder what this family member is saying . Is school in session right now ?
