GUILTY Australia - Jamie Gao, 20, murdered, Padstow, NSW, 20 May 2014

Poor Jamie may just be a middle man, a side kick.

Someone sent by the big guy and murdered as a warning.

This might get very, very interesting.

I was wondering same .. options are:

  • He bought it wholesale
  • He imported it
  • He stole it
  • He had it manufactured, or manufactured it himself

You don't go from zero to a 3 million dollar drug deal though do you?

ETA: True SapphireSteel, maybe he was sent to do the dirty work by others who didn't want to take the risk themselves, for good reason as it turns out, but still that's a lot of drugs to trust with one person.

I can't see it being planned, I don't believe Rogerson would do the deed himself unless it was a spur of the moment thing. He has people to do that for him IMO.

Hopefully the "2 Asian looking" guys in the car are found, but I think they would be way gone by now.

I don't believe for a minute that -none- of his mates knew where Jamie was going and why.

That he was 'excited' about the meeting implies he wasn't a hardcore Triad member or anything. Likely just a patsy with some connections, excited to be earning whatever amount he was being paid to ferry the drugs around.

I think there'll be a --lot-- more to this story than any of us will ever see.

The 2 Asian looking" guys in the car would of been the Drug Dealers. Jamie would of been the courier, so the 2 wold not get their hands dirty.

Im sure it would of been "Its simple take the drugs give them to the guys and get the money and we will pay you $$$" Had no idea of how deep in over his head he was.

From what i understand Rogerson had fallen on hard times and the speaking tours were his only source of income. How would he have come by the 3 Million to buy the drugs?

Thanks MrsG Norris for posting this. Very interesting case indeed.

Roger the Dodger has now been charged 'in relation to the murder' of Jamie Gao. Also his lawyer he's so upset he wants to go and see the police commissioner about police conduct at the arrest, cue violin :boohoo: there is also suggestion that Jamie Gao was acting as a police informant, but if he was it makes you wonder .. this whole case has a huge stink about it if you ask me. Wonder if we'll ever find out the whole story, look forward to the hearings.

Notorious former police officer Roger Rogerson has been charged with the murder of Sydney university student Jamie Gao in Sydney's south-west.

Arrested at his Padstow Heights home on Tuesday morning, the 73-year-old was taken to Bankstown police station, where he was charged with murder and large-scale drug supply.

He’s got a rebuilt knee. His Achilles tendon is cut. He’s half cripple and he’s 73 years old. He’s a grandfather.

"He can't even walk, let alone flee," he said of the 73-year-old former detective, who has a bad hip and walks with the aid of a cane.

Security footage allegedly shows three men walking into the storage shed – but only the two former police officers walk out.

Yep ok then :banghead:
Not too cripple to go to Qld to sell books and watch boxing MOO

:jail:

His lawyer is apparently another ex-detective .. it's like a little club isn't it? I tell you what though, if there is even a whiff of favouritism in this case in regards to bail, plea deals or sentencing, people will lose what little faith they have left in the NSW government. I very much hope Rogerson's lawyer, Paul Kenny did not get an audience with the commissioner today, if he did, then that's already a bad look. What's their past connection, anything?

Seedy Sydney: are we in a timewarp?

2UE Video Editorial: Is Sydney in a timewarp? John Stanley & Garry Linnell on Roger Rogerson, the seedy side of Sydney, and a return to the 80's. There is one thing that has changed for police, and it's a huge step forward.

In regards to strategy in this case, considering the amount of footage and evidence involved, I wonder if Roger the Dodger will be doing a little informing of his own in the hope of a reduced sentence or easier prison conditions? Perhaps that was part of the reason for the audience with the commissioner today?
