Husband charged with murder after woman found dead near Maryborough

    March 23, 2015

THE husband of a woman found dead in a home near Howard north of Maryborough will appear in court next week charged with her murder.

Detectives charged Nathan Peter Norman Greenfield, 34, with murder and his case was mentioned briefly in Hervey Bay Magistrates Court today.

He was not present and was remanded in custody to appear on March 30.

GreenfieldÂ’s long-time partner, June Wallis, 32, was found dead at a property at Park Haven about 7am Sunday after her body was found by a relative.

Police said that her death was suspicious, but would not go into further details

THE court case involving a man accused of murdering his wife near Howard, north of Maryborough, has been adjourned because the defendant has no lawyer.
Hervey Bay Magistrates Court was told the solicitor initially engaged to represent Nathan Peter Norman Greenfield, 34, had withdrawn.
Greenfield, who remains in custody, did not appear.
With no lawyer on hand, the magistrate had no choice but to adjourn the matter until April 9.
This will allow the accused time to gain legal representation and consider a bail application.
Detectives charged Greenfield with murder after the suspicious death of his long-time partner June Wallis, 32, at their home at Pacific Haven on March 22.
He also faces fresh additional charges including going armed as to cause fear, obstructing police, evading police (failure to stop) and possession of dangerous drugs.
