POLICE have asked people with holiday homes on Macleay Island to check their yards for anything amiss this weekend.

He said they would be canvassing all four islands in Southern Moreton Bay throughout the weekend in their hunt for clues.

"Unfortunately, it's confirmed our suspicions that she's met a violent and unnatural death and we're now conducting a homicide investigation into what's happened here," he said.

"Her injuries are consistent with suffering quite a high level of violence.

"This is an 85-year-old woman in her own home.

A SHAVING bag with bank documents belonging to murdered Macleay Island grandmother Liselotte Watson was found washed up on the shore the weekend before her body was found.
Police today revealed that a resident found the bag near Thompson's Point - with a rock inside to weigh it down - the weekend before the body of the 85-year-old was found on Tuesday, November 13.

They handed it over to police after a murder investigation was launched.

Macleay Island postie Steven Fennell says he is being 'lined up' in wake of Liselotte Watson murder

    January 27, 2013

THE junk-mail postie who first raised the alarm about the murder of a Macleay Island grandmother says he fears he is being painted as a "villain".
Steven Fennell says he believes theft offences from his distant past and his friendship with victim Liselotte Watson, 85, are being used to build a public case against him.

Speaking about the investigation into the brutal murder for the first time, he said police had named no suspects but their actions told a different story.

Thanx wewillgetyou topix is just comments section mostly rumour, truth and lies by locals.
if you google topix every usa state has one - they can get really ugly.

i did find a site localish to Macleay Island - at the time there was a bit of a debate in the comments about parolees on the island - - it might of been a small local newspaper, or just online news but it was definatly local people commenting
