This case was featured on 60 Minutes tonight. What an horrific crime! And a whole town living in fear of the gang of thugs who allegedly committed the murders of Lorraine & Wendy, and apparently committed numerous rapes among the young women of the town.

It is so sad that so many people could have helped Lorraine & Wendy, but did not help due to their own fear of the psychotic ringleader "Shorty" and the rest of the gang.

It is suspected that up to 6 people were involved - four of them now dead.

Finally one man has spoken out about his second-hand knowledge of the brutal crime. And the case is still open. Let's hope that something can be done to bring some kind of justice for Lorraine & Wendy ... even this late in the piece. Their families will soon be travelling to Toowoomba to lay a plaque of remembrance for the two girls.

Lorraine Wilson and Wendy Evans disappeared on a gap year in Queensland 40 years ago.

Their remains were found at Murphys Creek on the outskirts of Toowoomba two years later.

In all the time since, a code of silence and a reign of terror have protected the perpetrators of this evil crime.

A gang of men swore an oath on blood never to talk about that night and the entire town lived in fear of reprisals.
