She must have gone inside, otherwise what was the point of being there. I don't understand the secrecy of why she was there. Also, if her being there was at CD's request, why? given that on Friday nights, the place would usually be packed out? If he wanted people to believe she was at home at the time and the club had, in fact, been busy, his alibi would've been blown out of the water from to get go....or the plot stalled I suppose given that she was still alive at that time.

1 the driver worked at the club.
2 yes lynette did go in side ,because I was sitting on the steps as lynette came out of the club.
3 the barman was in his 70s at the time.in 1982.
4 Chris and PD and MD were not expecting Phone Call from lynette mother on Friday night .
5 Some week, clubs like that packed out ,and next week hardy anyone ,
I did ask the barman why this was, employment was high.at the time , Pension week,and Unemployment benefits week, Just opposite police station was a very popular pub club at night time Usual people were lining up ,and going in side . So that Friday night the 8th of January when I went past in the taxi to the city of Sydney RSL , next to the police station no one was lined up,only in Sydney the the city of Sydney RSL club was busy.
And Chris dawson said his wife left him some 8 weeks later to police, in a statement .
 
In Lyn's last ever conversation, she said to Helena : 'Chris had made her a lovely drink.'

Extract from Helana Simms' diary : Friday, 8 January 1982: Rang Lyn, sounded half sozzled said all was well.

JC has said many times that Chris mixed Lyn drinks to make her pass out so he and JC could have sex.

It took over 20 years for CD to be charged from the time the former student put in a report to the police which from memory was about 1999. Even after inquests in 2001 and 2003 where the main witness albeit into the inquest of Lynette Simm's disappearance, her statements were heard and not paid attention to. In the lead up to the murder trial there was a number of secondary witnesses including one with a diary, that could back up the student's claim which is why it went to trial.

I am guessing they would have to have the same standard of evidence for PD to be charged.

Edit: CD was interviewed in 1991 initially, so I think the initial reports to police were in 1990 or 1991 so around 30 years.

Three (3) extra years for the wife-killer Chris Dawson.
Judge sentenced Dawson to three years in jail with a non-parole period of two (2) years.

The court also heard he has mental health problems and has been taunted by other prisoners while serving his current 24-year sentence for murdering Lynette, who vanished in 1982.

The extent of PD and MD's involvement has been well concealed but not well enough that it isn't obvious some took place. Sometimes the anticipation of repercussion can be crushing. Let's hope any guilt is weighing heavily.

Good question ,if it was planned like a military operation, and a hitman was involved, driver, because the driver worked at the leagues club ,so he would have known if it was going to be busy that night, in those days in 1982 one week it will be busy at the next Friday was quiet club and next it was not busy there was quite common because I'd go there every Friday the next Friday was quiet, expecting Helena Sims to call her daughter at home, that night ,8th of January not Chris or Paul.
Don't forget Chris supposedly dropped her at Mona Vale the next day, Saturday to go shopping If a hitman is involved as I stated. there will be nobody ,no evidence then only a plan made up that she left because Chris was unfaithful ,that followed but one problem a Witness and an alibi so fragile that they panicked.
